Grabbed a few bottles with the $6 box masks, haven't tried it but honestly I don't think it'll be amazing based on the sound it made when I threw it in the car.

Most alcohol is a thin liquid. ‘Being thicker’ doesn’t tell us anything about the quality of it.
You're right however it just sounds like it's diluted, combine that with it being previously very cheap and now they're giving it away.
