Would this be suitable to install on a new Yaris Cross Hybrid? I currently have the cameras only from a Blackvue 750S 2ch from when my car was written off in January. Would I just be better off buying some spare parts and getting this reinstalled? Thanks.
Depends on your needs. Are you looking for good parking mode? If so, you'll need to look into something like a Cellink neo on top of the cameras as hybrid cars have notoriously small accessory batteries which only last a couple of hours when used for parking mode.
If your mainly worried about mid drive recording, is catching a number plate while moving more important or just having any camera recording is enough. If it's the former, the 900 series would be better as it can do 2k at 60fps (opposed to the maximum of 4k at 30fps). More fps equates to a higher chance of capturing a clear image of a moving plate. For the latter, it'll be cheaper to buy spare parts but it might not be easier as you might have to buy the whole unit again to get everything.
How does this compare to the Thinkware U1000? From my little research, it seems the Blackvue has a better app but if you were pulling footage off it wouldn't you just take the card out and use a PC?
When I was in an accident last year, a lady driving behind me had a Blackvue and was able to message me the footage she captured from the side of the road at the time. I didn't realise that sort of thing existed, and she could certainly have sent it later when she got home. Weigh up whether the convenience is worth it for you.
Wonder what model she had? My 750 2ch, I can live view, BUT, only when connected to a wifi hotspot.
I don't think I can download anything either(or send) unly I have a wifi hotspot set up
The watermark says HDR Blackvue DR750G Pro.
Get a Viofo, 1/3 of the price
Yeah, I'm not seeing the value in in $600 camera???

Great price. Just bought this yesterday from Autobahn online with the Blackvue battery. At the start if the morning most stores had stock, when I finally crumbled at night only 1 store had stock left.
Now to get Autobahn to install it all.
Grab a pack of two wiretaps that corresponds to the size of the fuses in your car while at the store.
YouTube is your friend. I've done three installs in the last 8 months. The first one took less than 90mins. The third was all in and tidied up in less than half an hour.
