      UI, app store, and built-in Chromecast would make this one better.

      Firestick does have the better remote though.

      Haven't used Firestick, but I have this compared to Nvidia Shield Pro (2019), Nvidia Shield (2017), Vodafone TV and a MiBox and this would easily be better for playback than the last 2 and possibly the last three. I haven't tried running Plex Server on this.

      I don't mind the remote on this, although it's pretty small so I lose it in the bed sheets often. The saving grace is it's white so marginally easier to see opposed to a black one!

        You can use your phone for this, google TV app and pair it to your cc. Makes it way easier specially with kids

      Having just purchased the 2k (1080P) firestick in the hope of "upgrading" my webOS 2.0 TV , I was disappointed.
      Why? Limited apps - although it does have amazon/netflix/disney buttons, you cannot (currently) cast "BINGE" to the firestick…

      As I need a 4k stick now, the amazon one is on sale $79, but I REALLY want a one-solution stick that can run all those apps AND binge, so I've ordered this… :)

    I got a free Chromecast from JB Hifi phone bundle deal and it runs very hot for some reason. Better way for new version (if they do)

      Got second one for my home theater, it turns on my amplifier to which my this is connected. Wish this also turns on my projector too

    I have 2. 1 of them after a few months of use started to develop a battery drain issue on the remote. Batteries won't last more than 2 weeks. Apparently it's a common issue. I've also got a realme TV stick which works just as well as this,

        The google TV didn't come out that long ago, didn't realise there were "eras". I bought them both within a year of each other. It was actually the newer unit that had the issue. Perhaps I was just unlucky

          Never used the remote, my samsung tv remote works well. Just can't use google assist from remote.

            @hopper: Do you know if there is there a way to set buttons on the samsung remote, like the home button, to go to the home screen on the chromecast instead of the TV homescreen?
