Why do people keep saying Chromebooks are cheap? Show me any Chromebook you can find at any price and I will find a Windows laptop with better specs for the same price.

They used to be cheap. Then they started adding bigger processors, high nit high res displays, extra ram, aluminium chassis and the prices now reflect this.
yeah , i don't get it either
it used to be $150
now it has gone close to a grand
just crazy
Saves time dealing with grandma
Chromebook Duet has been below $300 a few times
That's cheap
And we all know that a ChromeOS system would run better with 4GB of ram than a Windows one would, though let's see you try to find a better specced Windows laptop, under $300, with a FHD screen…
EXACTLY
Well looks like OP doesn't want to respond to their own post…
I'm not gonna say they're particularly cheap. But I do think they're often good value. Often better screen and keyboard than other PCs in the same bracket.
And if you want a fanless CPU — chromeOS certainly has benefits over Windows.
"same specs"? Assuming you're going to ignore the dimensions of the device, the materials used to make it, the quality of the screen, the battery life, etc.? Specifications means more than just processor clock speed.
They are cheap coz Google gets all your data?
I got an amd one for $100-150 or so, it is completely useless. Can't even watch YouTube on it.
Specs on paper do not equate to equal performance between ChromeOS/Windows/Mac
I think you are misunderstanding, when people say they are cheap, they are not referring to the price, they are referring to the quality of the product.
