So far it seems impossible without a SSN. Some of those prepaid cards supposedly report to credit bureau's but I'm yet to find one that doesn't require a SSN.
Has anyone had success especially from outside the US?

citibank maybe able to help if you are a gold client, you still need to be present in the usa to get a ssn or tax id no. you need to have a good reason but dont have to be working to get a tax id no in the old days dont know if its possible now. check out the blog on aust ff website dove was successful in doing it.
