Definitely worth the price hike compared to 5600g/5500 deals

    • +5

      Aaaaaaand of course got negged.

Dont have to trust me mate, you can google this yourself, search 5600/5600x and look up 5600g/5500, you will find that while similiar in naming they are two completely different class of cpus. The former two are all desktop zen3 just with the -x better binned. And the latter two are laptop zen3 APUs binned for desktop use-the 5500 doesnt even get an igpu even, compared to the proper desktop chips, you lose half the L3 cache (16mb only, mind you a zen2 3600 gets 32mb) and only get PCIe 3.0 support. There is a very visible performance difference and yes it will have quite a bit of impact in FPS. Compare to the 5500 deal that was about $80 cheaper its definitely worth the extra $$$

  • Finally, a higher tier mobo, lol.

Nice deal but im holding out for the next 3080 build.
Hopefully similar to last months promo I missed out on

    • Just be sure you don't get a Gigabyte 750gm or 850gm PSU lumped in the deal…I can see these PSU's getting pushed out here as they're pretty much unsellable

      • +1

Is that due to the scare of blowing up? Surely those effected PSUs were recalled

        • +1

It's a lottery with many of the originals still sitting on store shelves after Gigabyte did a stealth revision and tried to cover up the issue's.Faulty units are still offloaded to the unsuspecting to this day.
Gamers Nexus has 3 videos on YT discussing their own findings along with others

@[Deactivated]: Gigabyte will still refund the models and replace. Just check the serial.

            • +1

@Jazza2400: I'd rather avoid altogether..they've lost my trust and that of many others who not only lost their PSU's but it also took out other components of their builds including the gpu's…potential housefires aren't something I want to worry about either

Why do you need a 3080?

      • Mainly for better 1440p performance and future-proofing

        • -3

There’s no future proofing here. I mean in Q3 as next gen is released we’ll get 6900xt performance at mid-range roughly for $800. No point being desperate for a 3080 right now. They will get squashed by next gen 7700s and 4060s

    Hi Luke,

Could we please get a repeat of this deal pretty pretty please 🥺?

Yeah me too waiting for a great 12900 deal.

      • +1

        You sure are annoying.

      • Gee, you really can't stop doing this …

    • +1

But why would you want Intel CPU…?

      • +3

Intel 12th gen is very competitive in both performance and pricing against zen3, only let down by the current lga1700 mobo prices.

        • and DDR5 prices (if you feel thats actually worth it to you performance wise)

      • For the video editor, i9 is the fastest at this stage. Even better than AMD 5950x.

  • Hold on a second, they still make Motherboards with DVI ports? WHY?

    • +1

      for poor ppl Kappa

  • what is the difference of new 5600 vs 5600x?

  • Would you recommend this or this BPC deal?

I won't be doing 4K gaming to begin with but possibly in future.

    • -5

      BPC but DELL is best

    • +1

This has 3070 - significantly better for 1440p gaming than the BPC 3060ti in the current gen, both will be outpaced significantly in the next gen (slated for release in the next 8-14 months).
In general specs, the BPC computer is about 2 months behind the curve for GPU-to-price ratio, whereas this Techfast is pretty close to the current ratio.

      • Cheers for info!

Shopping express has 5600 + Gigabyte UD B550 + Aorus master 3070ti for $1432 + shipping. In addition, Corsair Ram, cooler, case and PSU are 10% off (Vengence 3600mHz 16GB + CX600m are $165, 4000D airflow is $116), u can reuse your case and storage, maybe your cooler or grab something better than this bundle. Assuming u can build PC urself.
