tell that to the wife lol
Do it
To spend a grand on this… temping…
edit: who are they price matching? Is this an amazon deal?
I can't work out who they are matching, if anyone. Target is $1039.20, Toys R Us $1030 are the closest I could find that had stock (shopforme $974.99 are sold out).
Edit: Promo page here so might be an Amazon promo.
One of my mates for this, its massive. I'd get one but like all LEGO build once then clutter the house.
What a piece of junk!
She'll make point five past lightspeed. She may not look like much, but she's got it where it counts, kid
What's with all the discounts on LEGO? The Camels is pretty much all LEGO right now.
welcome to ozLEGO
Thanks, finally pulled the trigger
how is this thing worth 1000$? i know nothing to do with lego but surely thats a piss take? this is worth the same as a clapped out honda civic? idgi
7541 parts. $0.13 per lego piece doesn't seem too outrageous does it?
13c seems a bit much really when some of the piece are so small. For me. rather than the price per per piece, how long does it take to build? Maybe how much enjoyment measured in hours on top of having something humongous that just takes up half your room will change the way you look at it?
That’s 7541 land mines waiting to be stepped on.
Where’s the Honda Civic for sub $1000 - I think it might be in a lot of pieces too?!?
Value is relative to everyone
For example people who drive clapped out honda civics clearly don't value their dignitydon't Forget your Civic Duty of building Said Honda :P
It's like the housing property market on a small scale coupled with a bit of brand name and licensing exclusivity.
I've got a few nostalgia based themed licensed sets but the "value" part of it is largely the former, as in whatever part of the price is due to demand side.

HODL as investment
Yep will be worth 10k in 5 years and alot more in 10
As you've called out, if its an investment which appreciates in value over a period of time, isn't that a good thing?
So why neg?
What neg?😋
Oops 😬
waiting for a Death Star in the same scale
I think you'd need council permits for that one
I'd love one but WAY too big unless you have a dedicated space for it
Bugger, I bought this from Amazon last week for 1,039.20. Do they offer I price guarantee ?
Update: Answer is no price guarantee but they gave me a $30 store credit. Better than nothing for just asking nicely.
If you buy from them all the time you might find yourself getting blocked doing those moves .
I personally wouldn't risk it .Do you have any source for this?
If only I had somewhere to put the bloody thing. So tempted.
Tempted to sell my original 10179 and get the newer one (and pocket the extra cash). It's a lot more polished and an overall nicer build
What's a 10179 worth these days in various states/conditions?
I sold mine many moons ago
I'm surprised its still worth 2.5 multiple of this with these similar sets being permanently released .
They range from 1500- 2500 used, or 4k-ish new
I just bought the display stand for this along with the led lights from AliExpress (missed the cashrewards offer though)
Hopefully it works lol
Can you please share the link mate?
I personally recommened the light kits from Game Of Bricks. You're paying for them and they'll ship from overseas, but I recently put one on my Home Alone setup and they're awesome:

Newer sets aren't necessarily going to be the investment that older ones were, too many being produced and easy availability. It means the market for resale will be much larger. Driving prices down.
You are not wrong about the availability of the new sets, but fortunately for a piece like the Falcon that's in the newer movies the kid's who grew up with the sequels won't have the cash to pick it up right now. So unless LEGO keeps the set around for 10+ years, there will be demand for this one in the future.
I have this, havent built it yet…box weighs a ton…
tbh am scared to build it, any ideas on how much time it takes people to complete it?
For even experienced builders, there's at least a good 20-24 hours that needs to be put into it.
If you send it my way, I'll gladly put in the time on your behalf ;)
I'd be more concerned about the space it takes up
Good thing to hold? Know nothing about Lego.
Thanks OP. I bought one yesterday.
I don't get this. $1000. Heaps of time needed. To be eventually, left, with a heap of junk (at some point).
You must have missed the memo that new and used Lego is a better investment than gold.
Do I need one?
No I do not…
No I don't…
o I do…
