Mounting Rear Samsung Speakers HW-Q950A

Hi Everyone

I recently purchased a set of HW-Q950A 11.1.4ch Home Theatre Soundbar which has 2 rear speakers. My question is given my lounge sits in the middle of the open space living facing the TV against the wall there are no power outlets to connect the rear speakers unless there is an extension cord. I was thinking of mounting them on the ceiling however I was reading in another forum they were not designed for that orientation. Has anyone else experienced this issue and have a solution for it? Thank you in advance.

Grab these when they come down in price.

  • If you have "wireless" speakers you need a way to route a power cable to them, if you have wired speakers you need to be able to route speaker wire to them from the receiver.

Generally to conceal the cables/wires, you would route them in conduits along the edges of the room (e.g. skirting boards), route through ceilings, walls or underneath the floor.

This makes it difficult for open space living rooms, but not impossible. A lot depends on your particular setup. How close are your walls, do you have carpets to conceal wiring, do you have access to underneath the house.

In theory, if you had access to underneath the house, you could get an electrician to install an electrical outlet underneath the couch - and then plug in your wired speakers to there. You could do a similar thing with running wiring under carpet.

Have a google and read up to get ideas on how people approach this issue - it's certainly not unique, you might find something that works for you

    • Thanks Harold some solid points I'll give it a shot.

  • These are the ones I used to have them wall mounted. No need to use the included metal brackets, that's more for the Sonos speaker
