  • Bought. Thank you.

  • Does it work with any SanDisk micro SD 128gb?

    • +1

It should, but a high endurance card is recommended for dashcams due to the constant writing, a normal card will fail a lot sooner.

      • +1

Saying that I have normal SD cards in all our dash cams and family dash cams (4 cars) for 3 years now and never had a card failure.

I would recommend high endurance if you used the car for many hours every day

        • I just checked, I bought this one. Samsung EVO plus. How is this one for dashcam? I haven't even opened the package since I bought it last year.

          • +1

@htc: Yes that is the cards we have used in all ours. Just checked, out Viofo Dashcams were installed June 2016 onwards and these cards still working perfectly.

            • +2

@PerthectDeal: I had Evo too until I realised I can't retrieve them when I needed it. The dashcam was still showing as recording without any issues. There were gaps in recordings too..better test every few months.
              Switched to high endurance.

    • Samsung PRO Endurance is the best in class when comes to reliability..but its more double the price of sandisk high endurance for the same size.

  • Bought one, thanks OP

  • I have a box of failed micro sd cards. I'm pretty sure the tropical summers kill them. Anyone have recommendations for heat tolerant cards?

  • Does anyone know if either shopback or cashrewards allow the use of gift card to purchase from amazon and still get cashback? Does this item fall under the category automative?

    • +1

No. You can purchase a gift card thru them and get cashback on the GC but not using it as a payment method as it can be double dipping.

    • +1

The dashcam is under Electronics so expecting 4% cashback.

      • Got 3% cashback from shopback $3.69. so must be under automotive, took more than 24 hours to track, further savings.

  • Thanks op, bought one.

Can anyone comment on heat durability of this for Australian summers?

I gave up on dashcams a few years ago after both it and the SD card died during the summer.
Suspect it couldn't handle operating in the heat.
But come on, we can't always park in the shade.

    • +1

I only read this dashcam use capacitor battery which has better heat tolerance than the lithium ion battery. I remembered buying my first dashcam, a cheap one but failed after a couple of weeks, I thought it was a bad brand.

I've had the predecessor to this model (A118) installed onto my windshield in direct sunlight for the last 3 years with no problem with a high-endurance SD card, in the northern half of the country.

These cameras use a supercapacitor rather than a battery for this reason.

      Just my experience though.

In process of buying irst webcam, how would this cmopare to https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002775860502.html
70mai Dash Cam Pro Plus A500S 1944P (GPS, ADAS, Dual Channel)
    it has WiFi

  • Received mine today, does not include the trim removal tool which is disappointing.

Cashreward is only 2% on the dashcam, nothing on the high endurance SD card.
