[NSW] 50-70% off Physical Media Blu-Ray, 4K & DVDs Movies (Excludes New Releases) @ BIG W (Blacktown)

140

Big W must be doing away with physical media in the same way KMart did a few years ago. I was in the Blacktown NSW store and most Blu Rays, DVDs and 4Ks were in piles out the front with prices of either $4, $8 or $15. Sadly new releases such as ghostbusters afterlife and also likely Spider-Man no way home were or will probably be at the RRP as I price checked ghostbusters afterlife 4K and it came up as $35. One would assume they will stop ordering in new movies in due course also.

Still 1917 4K for $8 was a steal but sad to see the Demise of physical thanks to the likes of Amazon prime and Netflix. If anyone else can confirm if there local Big W has the same sale feel free to comment.

Was there a Denise Austin Aerobics DVD? I agree it is sad to see the Denise of physicals.

I think OP might want to hasten your demise.

    • Corrected… posting deals whilst in a cinema just shows how disinterested I was

      • What movie were you watching?

        • New fantastic beasts film which was a drag but I was also unfortunate to see ambulance a few days earlier two bad films in the space of a week.

  • What were some of the 4k blurays they had for those prices?

    • Bloodshot, 1917, Spiderman far from home, baby driver, etc

Big W have had regular sales like this over the years. I was able to get DVDs for $2 each many years ago.

    • That's what I was going to say, just the other day I went to see the clearance section and got some for cheap but others weren't as cheap

still remember buying superman movie on blu-ray for just $5

1917 looks great in 4k. For $8 you can't go wrong.

  • I went to some other BIG W stores and I can confirm the same discount didn't not necessarily apply e.g went to Narellan and Carnes Hill. Still a physical section in both of those stores however and just saw a small section devoted to discounted movies. Many of the films still had a discount but not on clearance like in the Blacktown store.
