5500-3070-APRIL

Hi guys, continuing on from yesterday's R5 5500 RTX 3060 Ti is this fella with the RTX 3070. Recalling that the 5500 is based on same architecture as 5600G with the saving of no VEGA graphics.

Ryzen 5 5500 RTX 3070 Gaming PC: $1548 after 5500-3070-APRIL

  • Ryzen 5 5500 processor
  • RTX 3070 8GB LHR graphics card (Gigabyte primarily and MSI in use)
  • Biostar B550 GTA Racing motherboard (worth checking the link for specs, it is a much higher tier board than the B550 MH)
  • 16GB 3200MHz (2x8GB) RAM (Crucial Ballistix currently on hand)
  • 500GB NVME m.2 RAM (Crucial P2 most commonly used)
  • Gigabyte or MSI 650W Bronze PSU (specify preference if you have in order notes)
  • Leaper Maverick ATX 4-fan case

Other deals

  • Ryzen 5 5500 RTX 3060 Ti Gaming PC: $1288

Cheers
Luke

    Any 3080 deals or above?

    • +9

Luke replied to same question under yesterday's deal. He said, "We're working on high tier card deals with local suppliers now"

I hope we can see a 3080 deal around end of this month or early next month.

  • Nice deal but with AM4 dead soon, I'd advise waiting or getting slightly cheaper CPU and/or MB

Is the old expired ARSECRUSHER deal not better than this one?

    • Yes. Yes it was.

    Waiting on the DELL deals

    • Bad for you.

    • Give it up

    • Thanks for the update. I slept well knowing this.

  • The description on the page for the 5500 CPU states it supports PCIE 4.0, it is only a PCIE 3.0 CPU. It looks like the mobo supports both PCIE 3 and 4 NVME M.2s in both slots so at least you can still use both unlike some other mobos

    • Also the description on the web site link here states 4 RAM DIMMS for the Biostar board, but the description on the TF website states only 2, might be a factor for those wanting to upgrade in future.

    Comon Luke,
You gotta stop with the 5500's. I'm sure you've seen their benchmarks and how they compare to cheaper Intel chips.
A few dollars more you could even drop in a 5600.

But ozbargainers just want everything dirt cheap. Penny wise pound foolish. End up paying for a gpu that will be bottlenecked by the cpu. As long as it's a bargain lol

    keen to see some 12th gen intel i7+ 3080 or 3080ti set-up

  • 5500 is pcie 3.0 only, b550 kinda not ideal. still though, you techfast guys always got bangers when it comes to value for money builds

  • 5500 is only PCIe-3.0 and it has half the Cache of 5600. The RTX 3070 is not a great pairing with 5500. The ideal GPU for 5500 might be a GTX1050 !!
