Looking for a Motorbike Removalist

Hello

I'm looking to have my motorbike moved from Canberra to Sydney. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I looked up online and they all seem so dodgy.

  • Have always been a big fan of Ceva for car carrying

Lol @ CEVA. Yeah, I dont think OP has the budget to use CEVA. It would probably be cheaper for OP to go out, buy their own truck, move the bike to Perth, buy a jet, put it on the jet and fly it to NZ. In NZ, buy a container ship and then float the bike back to Sydney than it would be to use CEVA to move it from Canberra to Sydney.

      • So, what you're saying is it's a good idea?

Depending on the bike you would probably find a volunteer on air tasker.

I recently had a transported using Bikes Only.

They were reasonably priced & their time estimates were accurate. The condition of the bike remained unchanged.

Best to go and ride it up yourself. It's only three hours..

    • Probably not practical, if the OP has a car too. It would mean a one way trip to Canberra and then riding back … could easily chew up a whole day or weekend.

      • I also don't think my back would enjoy being on a sports bike for three hours

        • go the backroads via the coast and stop a couple times! hell, i'll do it for you weekend after next for $200 and your fuel costs.

  • Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, ride it there… it’s only Canberra to Sydney, not Brisbane to Melbourne

Reviews are always going to have a negative bias.

For a Canberra to Sydney, I would just look for someone that can offer a same-day service. Some motorcycle transport companies will have several interchanges for your bike, ie depot 1, depot 2, final delivery, etc. More chance of damage, every time the bike is loaded/unloaded. If you can find someone that'll only load/unload it once for this short trip, then you should be fine.

Also check what kind of van/trailer they're using. Obviously an enclosed van is better than an open trailer.

Three hours in, yet no suggestion of Bikies.

  • Have you considered renting a trailer and some tie downs and towing it up behind your car when you move? If you can't tow with your car, rent a moving truck/van with a towball and have a friend/partner drive your car up too?

  • That trip is a great reason to Ride it Yourself.

    • Just take the back roads.
