5kg box from Coles says 125 servings per pack and each serving is 2-4 dates, so somewhere between 250-500 dates. 375 average size dates in a 5kg box = 75 average size dates in a 1kg box.
Best before 6 months from dating of packing at Coles (16/3/22 - 16/9/22 in my case).

Medjool dates come from Morocco, however are now also grown in multiple other countries in the Middle East, the US, seemingly Mexico and also South Africa.
Was looking for a date…. Now I've found a kg of it
I bought them and Aldi's cheap 500g bag of dates (under $2) to do a side-by-side taste test. Difference is big. The cheap dates are good for using dates with something else (e.g., smoothies, bars, etc.). Medjools are perfect on their own.

The dates aren't bad, have had bigger/softer ones but a small packet is never cheap at all. Pretty good overall for 1kg.Can use a walnut too.
