Best Place to Exchange USD for AUD in Brissy

Hey,

Hoping some OZBARGAINERS from Brisvegas can help… I have some USD I need to change over to AUD … what is the best spot to do this? I am in the North around Virginia.

    Haven't changed any cash for a few years and COVID may have changed things, but in my experience Lotus in Anzac Square had the best spread among the CBD money changers.

    I've always found crown currency to have better than average rates (and no fees). They have a branch in Aspley hypermarket and can ring them for a quote. COVID has made it really unattractive to exchange cash though with people not travelling though - last time I tried the rate plain sucked. I ended up opening an aussie-based USD account with Commonwealth Bank and parking the $'s in there until things improve.

    Wouldn't it depend on how much you have?
    If it is a reasonable value, try to find someone who wants to buy it privately, and agree on a mid-price between the Buy / Sell.

    Depends on how much you have and if it's worth the trouble. Wise (formerly Transferwise) has possibly the best exchange rates online. Open a USD account with a local bank (HSBC, CBA etc), deposit USD and transfer it to WIse, then convert to AUD.
