Budget Wireless Headset for Gaming on Different Consoles / Watching Movies/sport

Hi OZBargainers,

looking for advice on getting a wireless Headset to go with my LG C1 65"

so long story short im renting while my house is built and my new neighbour works overnight shift as a nurse so wanna be a helpful person and keep the noise down for her.

Ive got a LG C1, PS5,Series X and Switch but like to also watch movies and sport but I really cant stand desync on sound between things so with the LG not having APTX LL ive tried to use an bluetooth dongle and a headset with LL but found it to be uncomfortable and not really enjoyable as an experience (got these https://www.taotronics.com/products/tt-ba08-bluetooth-transm… and https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B00FZLV9L8/)

i get some sound sync issues going directly to the LG but also the headphones just aren't that good so wanted a suggestion of better all rounder headphones for tvshows/sport/movies/gaming for quality of sound and directions)

comfortable for long sessions (biggest gripe on some of the headsets ive tried)
(Wireless but not fussed on frequency or bluetooth)
<200 is the budget closer to 100
happy to wait for sales etc

cheers

Sorry, I don't have any recommendations for you, but it's great that you're looking after your neighbour, wish everyone was like you :)

Arctis 7 is to the go to headset for console gamers.

  • Good guys have the Sennheiser RS120's for $120 at the moment ($5 off + free shipping through their ebay page if you have ebay plus) - https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/sennheiser-rs120ii-wireless-t… - it has been as low as $100 recently though.

I have the RS165 and while they're not mindblowing audio quality they do have excellent range, no latency and it's handy just being rechargeable batteries and a charging station. I had a bluetooth adapter like you did thanks to no bluetooth with my TV, didn't work out for me either.

    • thees look great, are they comfy ?

so i dont need to buy any charger for the batteries ?

I got a 28 degree card so i can just buy and price claim later on thanks for the suggestion

      • Mine are, but bulky but very light so I don’t notice wearing them. I like the physical buttons over the touch controls too. Can’t speak for the rs120 specifically though, they’re on ear instead of over ear which might not be as nice. And yup, no charger needed. Sometimes I forget to recharge it though and just switch in new ones (what kind of ozbargainer would I be without a box full of rechargeable batteries?

    • I was gonna recommend the same.

The problem with anything on Bluetooth is that you only get the low latency codecs (like aptX Adaptive) if both the device and the 'phones support it, so if you're wanting to use them with various things like consoles, you'll want something with it's own connection/dongle.

  • Since you have a XSX, PS5 & Switch, it might be worth using the headset plugged into the controller with the 3.5mm jack and use the Bluetooth for watching TV. Maybe the HyperX Cloud Mix? It is around $200 when on sale so a bit outside the budget.
