Check & Quote for What Is NOT Working in The House We Just Bought

Where will i find this kind of a person ?? and How much will I be charged for it?

We just signed a contract of a small house that will be rented out.
How do I check what all do I need to fix… what is not working etc etc
* does not have a pool
I would want to book the people and resources to be available as soon as the house gets settled. So would want this 'check & Assess' to be done asap.

I think what you're after is a "property inspection". That term might help your search.

strange. so you bought a house without checking what is and is not working?

    • Yeah, had to… or else i would've waited till eternity ( have been looking around and seen the rise & rise of prices for quite sometime now)

    Hi,

You can do some preliminary checks yourself, think Cleared Gutters, Locks, Lights, Powerpoints, Smoke Detectors, Fire Blanket for the Stove, Fire extinguisher, RCD, Taps (Leak?), Hot Water System, Solar Panels (if fitted).

If you see obvious things (or just want a report done) try and get someone who can quote or undertake the work. If using an agent to rent, they might have a checklist or people to recommend.

Real Estate Agent will coordinate for you…at a cost.

  • I predict pain ahead…..

Talk to your conveyancer or solicitor for what is real here.

You bought the house and it will generally be as inspected. You should have had a cooling off time, then you raise issues before then.

What are you expecting? Paint peeling - that they repaint it? But was that peeling when you signed the deal? This isnt a car purchase with 5 year warranty?

So you go to settle and find a light globe now not working? You say fix it before we settle. The seller refuses. You go to court? is it worth it? You curse the seller and move on. Like all dealings with people some times you can outlast the other sometimes you cant.

I don't interpret the OP as seeking remedy prior to settlement.

They are merely working through the process of preparing the property to be rent ready.

      • Yes looks like you are right. if so then ignore it if it doesn’t apply.

      • Yes, making it rent ready
