  • Domain name registration not included, $19.95 for 2 years I think.

  • meh, only 6 months

  • They offer a domain of the form:

    (your-bit).geek.nz

(Pretty costly at $17 / year)

Clever grabbing & use of the (real) domain name Geek.NZ :-)

You can pay (in 6 months, if you'd like to stay with them longer than 6 months) with PayPal

  • It would cost $9.95 to have my BYO domain TRANSFERED onto VentraIP's server/system.

…what would I get for that fee?

Is there any way to transfer it myself? (I'm Sooo used to MNF's Full-Control DIY system! I love it! :-)

    TIA

For gTLD it is a normal practise to charge 1 extra year to transfer between registrars. However you do not need to transfer to their system — just select "I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers" and then go to your existing registrar to change the name server entries to VentraIP's.

Edit: Just trying to answer your question:

what would I get for that fee?

You get one extra year of registration, if you are transferring a .com/.net/.org domain.

Is there any way to transfer it myself? (I'm Sooo used to MNF's Full-Control DIY system! I love it! :-)

You do not need to transfer the domain to VentraIP. Just

      • Select "I will use my existing domain and update my nameservers" in Step 1
      • Go to your domain's current registrar
      • Update your domain's name servers to VentraIPs.
  • So it's not actually free? Pass.
