5kw Split System Air Con Perth

I need a split system for my house in Perth - supplied and preferably installed!

I'm looking for it soon because I'd like to use it for heating over winter too - I saw Retravision had a special about 2 months ago for free installation on Samsung split systems but didn't have the cash then and haven't seen anything like it since.

I've worked out I'm looking at around 1200 for the system (5kw or 2hp) maybe a little more depending on the brand and then about 500 or so for installation.

Anyone got any tips on how to save some cash or seen any free installation deals around?

  • dmac80; the retravision's prices you seen had conditions for the installation where the a/c unit and condencer had to be back to back and were overpriced by $500 so something that is normally worth $400 was priced at $500 to make up for the installation price.

    If you know someone in the air condition industry, you could get it done for less; look around for a price;

    If your renting, speak to your landlord so they can maybe organize one for you but they'll probably jack up the rent by $5 per week.

    Shop around, find someone licensed to install it. Use websites like serviceseeking.com.au

    • I know what you mean - but this was actually genuine free installation with the obvious attached conditions. The price for the Samsung units (the ones that were included) are now the exact same just minus the installation. Having the condensor and ac unit is not an issue for me - and I own the house so having rent jacked up isn't an issue. Thanks for your help with the installation website!

    • Ditto Hilal - We put in two Daikin systems about the time of the Retravision special. The special prices were about $400 over the price you could by the units elsewhere. I live in Perth and ended up buying Daikin units in QLD from Lawson Air for the same price as cheaper brands in Perth(QLD had a cold snap whilst Perth was sweltering) . They put delivery address as the Perth depot and I picked up from there at no extra cost. Unit installation costs were quite high though - the back to back about $350 and one that was not back to back about $560 from memory plus new electrical circuits back to the board. (Some sparkies hook into existing circuit) . Electrical work was very expensive - 2 new circuits for $500 or $700 rings a bell. (Think I got the anti-bargain there - but he was available to do the work at short notice). You should be able to haggle better than that.
