any good?
always hesitant with smaller players.
Wouldn't really consider either Baseus or Shopping Square as "small players". SS sales are often featured on OzB and Baseus has been around for a while and quality is top notch i.e. not cheaply made, really solid and performs well.
SS don't often have genuine "sales" It's all just free advertising to them.
Plus their shipping is often exorbitant.
Can't say if it's perfect for all devices, or if it actually gets 100w…
But, It works fine with my Macbook Pro 16".
Its original apple charger is a 96W.
I've had no issues using it in my Caravan.
how strenuous would this be on the car battery?
The battery would handle it, but i'd guess that the fuse for the outlet might blow if you push 8 amps through this to get 100w. Better to get one that maxes out at 65w. I'm speaking from experience with a 85w magsafe car adapter.
I think from previous discussions, there was doubt this car charger would actually do 100W (20V 5A) on a 12V car battery… I don't think anyone has confirmed it can. Maybe it can on a 24V battery?
Edit: This could be an updated model to one I was thinking about.
See discussions on this older thread: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/645242Can confirm they work well, happily charges my MacBook Pro at 87W. I've got 3 of them now, bought extras after my comments in the last thread you just linked to, a second for the wife's MacBook Pro in the caravan, and a third to chuck in the car for the very rare chance we need it.
Great changer but I've seen far cheaper before
Delivery to NSW is another $7.95 - bringing the total to ~$28
At AliExpress, I can see Xiaomi 100W for $26.57
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001332623106.html?spm=a2…Shopping Square is back to their good old OzAdvertising tricks again I see… this is the exact same price they had it 5 weeks ago.
Where's the bargain?
Anyone have any experience how long postage takes? I noticed that even though AU Baseus ebay store, tracking still says via SpeedPak which is from China?
Maybe the product is available from other Sellers?
Delivery & Handling: $7.95
