Nice to see that FCL will still allow triple stacking.
Makes great sense for anyone spending around the $100 mark

    So what's the sweet spot?
    $166 -> $156 - $10( 2000pts) - $30(18%) CR
    Or is
    $100 -> $90 - $10(2000pts) - ~$16 CR

Or do we hold out for a possible 30% Shopback as alluded to in the one that escaped earlier this week?

    • Why not get both?

    • +3

In terms of maximum discount as a % of total purchase price, $50 is the sweet spot.

Also your calculations for the CR amount are wrong, the CR cashback is ex GST and on the purchase price after the $10 discount.

      • -1

$100 would be the sweet spot as you get the 10off as well as the Price is better for buying two on some items.

        Maker's Mark 2 for $100 looking good.
        $90−(8.181818…)×.18 = 15.9354
        88.53 - 15.9354 - $10 (flybuys)= 62.6/2 = 31.30$ per bottle of my calculations are correct.
(And A$2.62 CDC Jade cashback, $30/bottle)

Hard to say if this replaces the 30% that was meant to go live but not approved for 30%, in the coming days/weeks. It's the coming days now. 18% plus the other offers is pretty good imo.

        • The 30% is for SB, this is CR.

          • @MiscOzB: Yeah aware of that and that deal was up for an hour..
(see above some are hoping it comes back but 18% is pretty good)

            CR has tracked already :)

      • +7

        Yep.
$50 = $10 in flybuys, and $8.19 CR. Effective cost $31.82, or 63.64% of original cart.
$100 = $10 discount, $10 in flybuys, and $14.73 CR. Effective cost $65.27, or 65.27% of original cart.

To get the full $30 CR:
$193.33 = $10 discount, $10 in flybuys, and $30 CR. Effective cost $143.33, or 74.14% of original cart.

Does anyone else find the calculations are the most satisfying part of these posts?

        • downvoted lol

      • Also your calculations for the CR amount are wrong, the CR cashback is ex GST and on the purchase price after the $10 discount

Yep I used a rough 10% off before calculating (hence the ~$) , so what's your maths?

Also are you sure it's calculated off the -$10 price? Previously for me it appears to calculate off the pre-discounted price. When ive used a mates staff discount it certainly uses the pre-discounted price.

        • Out of interest, my cash rewards tracked at AUD 16.36 , I estimated 15.93 so think that's close enough.
$10off for $100 spend first as per checkout, CR = ~10% pre tax price (price - price/11) then subtracted $10 flybuys

          • @G-rig: The exGST amount of $100.is $90.90

            90.90 x 18% = $16.362

So I'm guessing CR comes off the $100, not the discounted $90 ?

But ~$32 for a bottle a Markers is pretty awesome. Some of the cashback deals for Coles Liquor and getting into bed with Uber Eats, I suspect they're fattening up their sales to get ready to flog it off like Woolies did.

            • @M00Cow: Yeah perhaps that's correct mate

Anyway seemed like a good deal to me :)

    • +6

Yeah maybe we are spoiled but 18 isnt quite high enough for me these days, i think i will wait for the 30 lol

      • +2

Yep, 20% minimum for me. Ideally 25% or higher.

        • As long as the flybuys $10 hangs around :)
Always worth trying to find something on special too (and not jacked).

          • +1

@G-rig: The 2k FB points ends on Sunday

            The TENOFF code ends tonight

            • +1

              @nismo: Nice, not worth waiting

  • -2

Unless you're desperate, I wouldn't purchase. These have been going on for years now.

They've jacked up prices on alot of high end wine, in sure there's solid deals for beer or spirits tho.

  • Just joined Coles Plus for 10x flybuys points at First Choice Liquor - will cancel tomorrow - hopefully its 10x 2000 points, mwahahaha

    • Unfortunately, definitely not 10x on bonus points

      • damn, was worth a shot

      • +1

One time I had a woolworths spend $30 on meat get 2000pts ($10) that worked multiple times. My freezer got very full of sausages that month.

  • +2

From my previous purphases, CR seems to be using the pre discounted price excluding gst to calculate cash back.

Example: My purchase was $160 ($145.45 excl. GST) before the TENOFF code. After applying, it brought my total to $150.

My CR account tracked the purchase as $145.45 and calculated cashback from that amount.

    • Yes this is correct that’s how it works.

Hi guys. Apologies for this, but we've just received notification from Coles Liquor Group that this promo will need to be paused at 10am AEDT as it was an error on their part and should not have proceeded. We will honour all transactions made at the increased rate until 10am AEDT. Thank you.

    • +1

      Lightning does strike twice!

edit: just clicked and see that cashrewards still shows 18%.

    • Oh great, I logged in when it was 18% and completed my transaction at 9.02am AEST (10:02pm AEDT). Will that be honoured?

Edit: Seems all good, tracking came through. Must have tracked at the rate that I clicked through at.

    • +2

Good on you for honoring this. I wonder what is going on with Coles as the same thing happened with Shopback the other day.

      • I am guessing they didn't want the cashback promo to overlap with both the Flybuys and $10 off promos. So probably got the timing wrong.

        • +1

Seriously such an amazing marketing team from Coles Liquor. Too many interns or probably running short staffed like most businesses these days !

  • +2

Awesome, just got in with 1 minute to go!

    • Same!

    • +1

      And tracked already!

  • damm i missed out :(

any chance of extending to 11am? lol

  • +4

Great, was all ready to go a10:30 and look what I found.
    Another fine mess

  • +1

Made a purchase @ 10:07 AEDT. Tracked and confirmed at 18% @ 10:28 AEDT. Will it be approved?

    • +2

Similar situation for me, I think it should be fine. After you click through at 18% (on a promo that is advertised as 24 hours), I think it is reasonable to expect that you can complete the order at that rate.

  • +2

Man why do I keep doing this to myself. I see the CR/SB offer for the cashback when waking up then go to order ~11am QLD time and both have been pulled :(

    • +1

      Snooze you lose hey.
I saw it and ordered at 4.30am
