We plan to use velocity points for flights to USA with Hawaiian Airlines (or United when the partnership starts). On the website it says you can redeem flights with partners but they "must be booked via the velocity contact centre". But each time I call that number, it says that the call volume is too high and to try back another time. (Have tried calling 6 times at different times of the day). Anyone had any luck with this? Thanks!
If its anything like the Qantas call centre they've been playing the "If you not travelling within 24 hours hang up and try again later" message for the last 2 years.
Just ignore it and expect to be on hold for a couple of hours before getting through to someone who can book things for you.
