  • White is cheaper at $240

    • I think those are used.

        Free ear wax/hair thrown in.

        • +1

Honestly i never feel comfortable putting earbuds that have been used previously in my ear even after cleaning.

        • Bonus. 😂

When my Momentum TW1s broke (apparently, your toddler flushing them isnt covered under warranty), I immediately replaced them with TW2s.

They are so far ahead of anything else in this price bracket. Unless you care about calls. Which I dont.

    • How do they compare to the Sony WF-1000XM4s?

      • +1

My wife has XM3s, which just sound boomy and muddy. Comply tips on both. Battery seems roughly the same, but I think I read that the Sony lasts longer when you have NC turned on for both.

        No connection issues with either.
I never use NC on either, so can't really talk about the effectiveness there.

The shape of the Sonys just makes them sit really weirdly in my ear. You also look like a dude from the 90s with a bluetooth earpiece. This may be a feature to some.

Sony has way better touch controls tho (when they work). The Senn controls are trash.

        • I had the XM3s and had way too many issue with them, comfort and connection were just some of the issues. Definitely not one you can use at the gym.

    • How do the TW1s compare TW2s?

I'm little tired of dealing with the TW1 battery issues and was thinking of buying the TW2s if the difference between the two is noticeable.

      • +1

Sound is basically identical. Battery drain is no longer an issue. Runtime seems better too. Usb-C is nice. There is noise cancelling now but with solid foam tips I can’t tell the difference. If you commute and/or use silicone tips, could be a factor.

If the below is true, I’d wait for the TW3 in case they pick up multipoint. I’d pay for that.

        • Seems you've answered my question - glad to hear this is fixed because If I had known of this battery issue I probably wouldn't have got i. Everything else ticked the box but multipoint would be excellent. If thats a feature for TW3 I would seriously consider but it would also need better calling features as one day I might drop these!!

    • Do these continue to drain the case? My TW1s sound great but they drain the case when not in use and by the end of the week I have to charge them again.

My over ear sennheisers haven't been charged for months and they still carry a charge.

    • Aren't the TW1 popular for losing battery for no reason? How are the TW2s compared to them?

  • +2

They are a great bit of gear!
Have a set myself and love them.

Just be aware - the price drop is because there is a stock holding and the TWM3's will be released next month.

For the money, and even at RRP they are well worth the coin.

    • Yeah thought that was the case, new ones being released. I was looking at some headphones for the gym and found these. Most of the other retailers still hadnt reduced their prices yet, they will probably drop them soon by the looks of things then.

  • Momentum TW1s has issues right? Did anyone ever return them under warranty and get lucky with them being replaced with 2?

    • Yes I did. I returned mine 1 months prior to warranty expiring and requested an upgrade to TW2 given both were the same price. This was in January 2022.

      • Did you get TW2? They have 2 year warranty, I got mine from their eBay store under a year ago I believe.

        • Bought the TW1 got upgraded to TW2 because of battery drain issue. I bought mine through the Qantas store.

          • @nightelves: Yeah, apparently mine has the same issue.

Do I ask them via eBay store, I wonder if they'll refund or just upgrade me!

If good sound quality is your biggest requirement then you get these. Everything else is an added bonus. ANC is average. Mic quality is meh. I've rarely drained the battery on these. I'd say you get about 4/5 hours of bassy music at almost full volume with ANC on. There were reviews that talked about unstable connections, but I've rarely had them. They don't work past 5m and a couple of brick walls in between. Other than that not much to complain about. One thing to complain about is you can only connect it to one device at a time, so you can't seamlessly change from your phone to you laptop for example.

    • The inability to connect to multi devices is a big limitation for a device that is priced at over $400 RRP.

    • +1

I had these for a while but they weren't for me - I much prefer the physical buttons of the Jabra vs the touchy touch controls on these. Sound quality is great, ANC is ok (a bit better than my current Jabra Pro Elite 7s, which have average ANC). The battery case can't be wireless charged (if that's important to you) but more importantly, the case was too chunky for me. I loved that I could just chuck my old Jabra 65Ts in my pockets without a thought. Also, the fabric cover will undoubtedly show wear and dirt much quicker than plastic cases.

If you keep your case protected from dirt, don't mind the chunky case and don't mind touch rather than physical controls, these are pretty good.

      • Sound quality wise, is it much better than Jabra?

        • +1

I listen to mainly podcasts rather than music. The Sennheisers do have maybe a little more clarity, but it's not a huge difference to my (relatively untrained) ears.

    • Have you performed the latest FW UPG?
There was another released about a week or 2 ago.

The connection issue has been rectified (drop outs and/or unable to connect).

The only issue I've otherwise found is the lack of 'multi-device' connection/capability.

Nothing a quick flick of the on/off switch cant fix…

I use them all day every day and just flick between 2 PC's and 2 phones as and when needed.
(Ok, I have a few pairs of headphones on my desk too and swap these over to over-ear headphones when listening to music stationery.)
Noise cancelling is fine - I'm on planes every week/fortnight and they are more than capable of isolating the noises one hears in a plane. Just make sure you have the best fitting silicon tips for your ears. (Mind you, I dont like ANC generally speaking).

  • +1

Have been using these for 2 years now. Paid $450 in 2020, worth every cent so far. Wide soundstage and ANC is great, i dont hear much when in the gym.

Id wait until TW3 drops. It can and should drop further than $300.
Keep in mind this is 2-3 year old tech. So i imagine the TW3 will incorporate features missed out on the TW2. I personally dont care about muilti point connections and wireless charging. They just need to sound good, and they do.

  • Surely the Bose Quietcomfort Earbuds are better? And at $289 at video pro, cheaper than the Sennheisers?

    • +1

Specwise maybe, however looking at the design it looks similar to Sony's and it seems like it hangs of the ear. I personally dont like that design. Also from what i know the Bose like this one can only connect to one device at a time which for a recent release is a pretty big downside.

  • Just get soundpeats H1 or mini pro.

So much cheaper and sound just as good. Xm3 are so ugly and bulky I honestly don't know people like them all.

  • +1

    The MTW2's are now $248.

MTW3's are up on Amazon for pre-order… delivery mid month… (@$400)

For the money @ $248, I'm thinking of getting a second set of the 2's…

    Love them!
