I’m looking to get a case for the current iPad.
My use will be using it out in the field to take photos and complete basic reporting task.
It would ideally allow for easily holding/handling and a quick way of stowing it when not in use.
Eg a strap or belt latch
As I will frequently need both hands free between using it
If someone has a recommendation or simply a reputable place to look for one that would be greatly appreciated

i suggest a laptop bag / messenger bag for easy storage.
Which iPad? A newer one compatible with magnetic cases, an older one that is not? A Pro? Which iPad are you using. Do you need a keyboard and trackpad on the case?

IMO a phone would be more convenient than holding an iPad for photos…
Exactly. Why would you want to use an iPad to take photos?
Get a decent phone or even one of those old school camera thingies
If you're filling out a form, such as an inspection form or something, on the iPad then it would be a lot handier to take those photos on the iPad itself than remotely adding photos from an iPhone.
