Does Anyone Know a Replacement for Nappy Disposal BIN Liners Refill Product?

It costs $38.9 for such a simple product. A bag at Woolies to fill up fruits and veggies is more complicated as it needs to be teared off. This is just a single cylindrical roll of plastic which is manually cut and locked.

KORBELL Nappy Disposal BIN Liners (3PK) https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B00KAV6HII/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i…

I feel like a sucker to pay so much. The bin is really good to put dirty nappies but it’s unfair to pay so much for the refills. I understand it’s like buying printer ink but really want to know if there are any products out there ozbargainers use as a replacement which doesn’t cost a ridiculous amount.

Cheers,
Dr-SL

We have the Ubbi and it's great.

I think we paid $99. Just takes standard garbage bags. Make sure you fit the bag correctly and you won't have any issues with odur.

    • Thanks for your comment. Fitting the bag correctly is the challenge we have had in the past with these bins. They don't support it quite well so we can fit the bag and forget about it.

      • The ubbi does have a rubber seal though and is metal. Once it's sealed if the bag is fitted correctly you can't smell anything. We empty it once a week on average and put all dirty nappies straight into it. It really is worth the extra over the Korbell

        • Another vote for the ubbi, again we just use normal bin bags without an issue. I keep it to wees only though as not so brave to keep the poops in the ubbi in the bedroom.

Old Coles bags also worked when I ran out of bags.

Sorry to be a buzz kill.
I have twin kids and I bought 12L bin with as lid from Kmart. We put everyday standard 12L bags in it and fill it up with pooey and peed nappies.

    We empty it each day.
A bit of a smell when opening it up but meh. Its dissipates. That's what the window is for. Open it fit fresh air

Foxjump, I put the soiled nappies into nappy bags (the Woolworths 200 pack for $3.20), tie them tight then put them into a lined Kmart bin too. Never had any problems with odour. Good to know I’m not the only person who is so cheap!

      • nappy bags? no nappy bags here.
Literally: Kmart bin -> liner -> pile of nappies (poopy or not) + dirty wipes too.
there's only a brief smell when i lift the flap to add more nappies/wipes or to empty it out.

Someone gifted us a pack of 200 nappy bags to use when out and about.
Still have plenty left! Covid means we havent gone out much in the last 2 years.

    • Thanks FoxJump. No, this makes perfect sense. We will probably go with an option of segregating #2 and #1 covers. Maybe use a dog poo bag for #2 like zoecot has suggested.

Btw twins! That must be exciting and challenging at the same time :)

Twins was very difficult till about 1yo. Then became easier.
At 4months they were waking every 2hours, but - one hour each apart.
So .. up .. every … hour ..at ..night.

Now they play and fight together, sometimes drawing blood and leaving teeth marks on each others back - or my hand. Theyre getting less violent as time goes on and actually do help each other out. Like, one bring to the other a car so they can play together or a snack gets shared between.

But occasionally still they'll lock arms fighting.
        Sigh.

at least the fights are even as theyre twins and mostly weigh the same.

        • haha that's cute! Good to hear it got easier after 1 year.

mate forget it, grab one of them, can hold 495 nappies. it's 40 bucks, don't lose sleep thinking about it, that's ur kids job lol

once they get older they poo and wee less won't need it as much

    lesson learnt next time!

    • Agree! It’s lesson learnt. 12lt bin is no way enough!

      • A 12L bin is enough for 1 day's poo and nappies for twins.

Use any small bucket with any plastic bag or the plastic from toilet paper or thoe from nappy bag and put it outside your bedroom door. Only put one with pees only. For those with no 2, put in kitchen bin.

    • Yep, thanks foxmulder. Will do that :)

  • wt abt buying the dog poo bag for dirty nappy bag? We used the portable one when we are out but you can buy a box size for home use.

    • Great idea! I think these can be used for #2 and regular bin for #1. Cheers!

  • I’m long last this stage of life thankfully, but at the time we had one of those twisting nappy bins and I recall reflecting on the fact that we were wrapping up the most biodegradable substance (poo) for who knows how many years

    • I had a similar thought when I first saw the twisting nappy bins. Thought that it was such a rip-off! so went with KORBELL which we were told can hold any regular household clean-up bag. It does hold it but not very effectively so ended up buying the refill pack which looks so simple that there are no other replacement for it and it's freakking expensive!

  • it all sounds like an ecological nightmare. Is this the best we can do?

    • Some people toilet train their kids from 6months.
mines are 30m and we havent gotten around to it yet :/
