710

This deal is back and slightly better than previous one
Thanks to nocure for description

30 day money back guarantee from Nord for peace of mind.

Cashback is eligible for new NordVPN customers only.

Cashback may be ineligible if using codes not listed on Cashrewards.

Cashback is calculated and paid on the advertised cost of the plan only. It will not include any GST, taxes, credit card or PayPal surcharges.

The amount that tracks to your Cashrewards account may differ to the paid amount due to international exchange rates. Your initial payment is converted to USD, then converted back to AUD when reported to us. The advertised cashback rate is based on the reported amount, not the paid amount. Cashrewards has no control over this process.

Hey guys. These tips will help :)

A new customer is defined by NordVPN, and nothing to do with your Cashrewards account. Simply use a new email address at their end, the same Cashrewards account as always, and you're good to go. Please remember to click 'Shop Now' or 'Shop Offer' and buy - don't click to other sites looking for codes etc and certainly don't use any 3rd party plugins. Best to use the Cashrewards mobile app on 4G/5G as this also eliminates any potential issues with WiFi/router firewalls and the like. Tracking for NordVPN typically takes 1-4 hours. And finally please remember you have the safety net of NordVPN's 30-day money back guarantee should tracking fail. All the best, and have a great weekend!

NordVPN: 96% Cashback for New Customers

    How much for existing customers?

    Mine's about to run out…

    • +1

      Make a new account…

      • I don't think you can use the same credit card or cashrewards account either.

        • +4

All you need is a new email, I've signed up multiple times on the same Cashrewards account and been paid. Not sure about credit card as I used a disposable revolut card each time.

        • no issues with using a new email address, but anyone know for certain whether the same credit card / paypal account can be used?
my current nord account is expiring, so keen to renew, but want to make sure i don't do anything silly to get my cashback rejected. Thanks all

          • -2

@green_banana: If you pay them with your same credit card, they will know it's the same person creating a new account and will not honour the cashback.

  • If I have registered an account with NordVPN before but never purchased any paid service, am I still eligible?

    • Use a new email address

      • +1

Not sure if that means "no" to my question or you are just suggesting that to avoid any potential issue

        • +3

I would make a new account to avoid any potential issue

  • Does anyone know how good/bad NordVPN is in terms of user privacy?

    • Post your details here and I will check their database.

  • To avoid GST, may we use country as US? I remember I set it to US last time but it was 3 years back. Just wanted to confirm if anything changed since.

    • +1

Can't see why not. This should be totally ok, as I've read many comments in previous posts where this has been done successfully. Also please ensure you read my tips above. Cheers :)

      • I didn't use the US, but I did use another country where I will be using this VPN extensively this year. And the cashback from Cashrewards tracked very quickly (around 1 hour) and in full. Although I only got 95%!! ;)

        • Thanks for confirming Charlie :)

      • Great, thanks TA

        • Let us know how it goes :)

          • @tightarse: Funny thing, just checked my account abd there are still 7 months left not sure how did that happen. I checked 2 months back and it was set to expire on 2 april

Anyway, i think i need to wait unless i can activate it 7 months later?

  • Can this combine with referrals and/or affiliate code?

  • Got a question guys, not related to VPN, but related to DNS proxy. Do you know good offers for DNS proxy? I am across smart dns proxy and they have 2 years for $60 USD. Just wonderibg if there is a bettwr one..

  • How long is this deal for? Will it still be availble in 2 days time?

    • Expires 11:59pm AEDT 27/03/22. Will ask the mods to update the post. Thank you.

      • thanks TA. I have updated the post

        • Thank you :)

  • +1

I honestly just couldn't get this to work reliably at all. Paid through my teeth for ExpressVPN instead.

    • Can vouch for ExpressVPN, you can count on it, and that's why they rarely discount.

  • another tip i'll add from when i signed up from a previous deal - don't turn off auto renewal until you get the cashback. there was some talk that people that disabled auto renewal were not having cashback honoured by nord.

  • +1

Good timing. My last 3 year deal expired yesterday.

  • +1

Bloody hell, I didn't notice that they snuck in NordPass into the checkout. I think that's pretty bloody misleading. Hopefully I can get 96% cashback otherwise I'll have to get a refund…

    • +1

It should be 96% cashback on any products via their website. Please do let us know once you get tracking. Thank you.

      • That's a relief! I'm not going to follow up a refund for a couple of dollars for NordPass. I'll let you know if I run into any troubles :)

        • +1

Please do. Here to help :)

          • @tightarse: Just following up, only received $98.14 on a $192.27 purchase. Any ideas on how I can follow this up?

            • @Unseatingcargo1: Yep same issue here as well

            • +1

@Unseatingcargo1: So it looks like they've charged you the full amount for NordPass Premium which has it's own cashback component and ineligible for cashback if purchased as a bundle via this deal (bloody crazy I know). Best and fastest option here is to cancel with your money-back guarantee, then reorder with a new email address ensuring you don't include NordPass with any VPN plan. Please accept my apologies on behalf of NordVPNs oversight with this. Thank you.

  • +1

I don't recommend this if you are looking for a quick cashback. Purchased late November and still 'pending'. :/

  • So I purchased 2yrs of the VPN as per their promo on the website. But the price that got tracked was only for 1yr? Thought it wasn't capped.

    • Please see my response here. Did you remove NordPass at checkout?

      • Yep just saw it, Getting a refund now. Ill have to purchase it again

        • I agree totally with what you and @Unseatingcargo1 have said. NordVPN should not be including this in cart as it's a trap for unsuspecting buyers. All I can do is apologise on their behalf, and please know I've already emailed them about this concern. Thank you.

          • @tightarse: yeah, poor form from Nord. I understand the Lenovo model of enquiring as to whether you want something added to your cart, but to put it in there regardless is rather deceptive. I have processed a refund and will re-purchase. Thanks TA!

            • @Unseatingcargo1: Please let me know how you go second time around, and hopefully all tracks as it should. Also note that NordVPN reps do read OzB and I'm sure these comments won't go unnoticed. Apologies again, and good luck with your second crack :)

              • @tightarse: Same issue here. Paid for vpn + pass. Cashback tracked within an hour. Got a refund. Tried again with new email address and removing Pass. Cashback had not tracked yet (6 hours so far).

        • Hey

Did the 2 year option track OK?

  • +1

Guys, please ensure you remove NordPass Premium from cart at checkout, as it appears NordVPN excludes this from the cashback component. See screenshot here. Thank you.

  • Is it okay to pay with ApplePay ? Or should i use credit card?

  • What does everyone use these VPNs for ?

    • getting past geo-blocking restrictions mostly.

      perhaps for pron too?

      • perhaps for pron too?

To cover your track while you are at work?

Certain workplace IT policies block all VPN services when you connect to the office network.

        • Nah from ISP / snoopy IT savvy housemates, I don't know, lol.

  • I purchased the two year promo (72% off) through the cash rewards "shop now" button. I removed the nord pass but I still got charged $120.39 (100% price of the 2 year plan). Anyone else experiencing this?

    • The pricing was in USD.

    • +1

Hi. What does your CR tracking email show as the purchase amount and the cashback amount? I can only assume you paid + GST instead of choosing another country to avoid GST? See here.

      • CR cashback amount is $98.14. Looks like I paid for GST. Woopsies, atleast its still an 80 odd percent discount haha.

        • Thanks for confirming :)

  • Do most people get 2 years for best value?

  • How long till it shows pending in my cash rewards? I went all the way through and ended up hitting the get Nord app button which crashed the cash rewards app browser but that was after it successfully purchased and activated.

Do I just need to be more patient šŸ˜‚
Edit: Yep says takes up to 7 days to show pending in Cash rewards lol

    • +1

Please see my comment here. Tracking should not take more than 4 hours for NordVPN, unless you purchased around midnight AEDT at which time reporting is paused until normal resumption at 6am AEDT. Please let us know if you eventually tracked :)

      • Yep it shows in my Cash rewards pending processing

        • Thanks for confirming :)

  • Is nord any good? Never had any VPN service. How much cash back do you get?

  • If you purchase this on your desktop pc dont make the mistake I did and have two browsers open (chrome/firefox) with multiple tabs open. I did this and it never registered the purchase. Luckily TA told me what to do and now it has gone through (see his post up the top). If you insist on doing it via your browser just use one browser and have no additional tabs open. Make sure you have any extensions disabled. But the best is to follow TA instructions and use the phone app with4G/5G enabled (disable wifi). If it didn't go through just cancel the subscription with nord and make sure you reorder using a new email address.

    • cancel the subscription with nord

Have they made it easier to cancel their service within the 30 day window?
I remember 3 years ago, they asked a bunch of questions and also asked you to submit a speed test when cancelling.

      • +1

Yes was super easy. I typed the word 'refund' to their chat bot then they give you some preselected options to choose for why you want a refund. I chose the 2nd one which is 'I dont need it anymore'. Then a human chats with you and sends you a copy and paste message trying to convince you not to leave. Just say 'I dont need it at this stage' and they proceed with the refund. If you say the service is not good enough it can much harder to get a refund as you'll have to prove it. Either that or they've just made it easier in general nowadays. Whole process took 1-2 min.

  • After installing the Windows client, do you still need to install browser extensions?

    • +2

Nope, the client tunnels the traffic via a "NordVPN"-esqe network adapter, so nothing slips through.

      • Ok, thanks. So the browser extensions if for when you can't or don't want to install the full client.

  • Signed up, thought Iā€™d removed NordPass and charged $132.72 / 2yr deal. Is this correct as I was expecting around $95? Hopefully Mr TA will be able to clarify for me. All sorted and nothing to be concerned about, huge thank you to Mr TA

  • +2

Nord charged me $109.44 for a $79 USD purchase, a 1.385 exchange rate. Cashrewards cashback was $97.85, a 1.239 exchange rate.
What should have been $4.27 (791.35(1-0.96)) is now $11.59, more than double what I expected. Compared to the $106.65 price it should be at the current exchange rate, it's only a 91% discount. I think that's pretty misleading. -_-

    • I wouldn't complain though considering its $11.59 for 2 year

    • +1

Yea, 96% cash back is misleading, but hard to complaint when $15 covers 2 years of VPN.

I missed the 72% off deal. Even at 66% off, which is about US$95 (without GST), after cashback it should cost about US$4 (less than AU$6).

But they charged AU$132, cashback is AU$117, difference is AU$15. Actual cost will be closer to AU$20 due to bank fees, but can't fault them for bank fees.

Realistically it's about 88% to 89% cashback, still pretty good.

      • Yeah you're right, it's still a good deal. In the future though, I got to be a bit more conservative with what I think will be the cashback.

  • Subscribed an hour ago (AU$109.44 for 2 year), still nothing in CR My Rewards nor email about the tracking, pretty scary at this point as the promotion will end tomorrow

Edited: just got email and saw a new entry in My Rewards right after I posted this comment, status is still pending though

    • It will stay in pending for months.

What did you do to get AU$109? US$95 is closer to AU$130.

      • But its not US$95, its US$79

        • How did you manage to get that?

          • @browser: Nothing, just click the 2-year plan, at check out, you will see its US$79

            • @justwii: Ah yes, you got 72% off.

I missed that one and only got 66% off. So US$95 instead of US$79.

Just now tried again in incognito, 72% off again, cheeky bastards :D

  • Curious question (as I have not used Cashrewards or any shopback app etc…). Is the estimated approval time of June a real timeframe? Like, does it actually take close to 3 months for it to be able to returned to your account.

    • Sometimes can be much sooner, such as the Amaysim deal was approved in one month instead of three.

I guess they want to confirm payment until after no refund.

      • Makes sense šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

  • Question for tightarse, having an entry in My Rewards but in pending status, does it mean I WILL get the reward eventually or is it still possible for it to be rejected?

As it takes a few months to know the final result but the full refund policy by NordVPN is just 30 days, if CR rejects it, I will be like paying $100 for something I initially thought is just $10 and cannot get refund after a few months.

    Are we taking that risk?

    • Hi. If it's pending, you'll be fine provided you don't cancel the order. Also, NordVPN generally approves transactions a lot earlier than the estimated date. Thanks :)

  • Good price but they dont have node in Philippines

  • How long does it take to receive the cashback?

    • Please ensure you read my comment here. Thanks.

  • Bought cards, thank you

  • I have paid A$120.38 but will be receiving A$97.91 as cashback. How come this is 96%?

    • You probably did not change to USA, so GST was applied (~AU$109 + 10%).

Cashrewards excludes GST, also due to exchange rates back and forth, actual cashback is around 90% as discussed earlier. So AU$98 back is about right.

Though calling it 96% cashback is somewhat misleading.

  • i always seem to get busy when these deals are posted, nearing the end of the month. And when i come around to check i always miss it by a couple of days.
does look like a monthly deal now
