Soooo tempted - but I don't need another watch, I don't need another watch, I don't need another watch ………

Kinda puts the $380 Omega Swatch Speedmaster into perspective. Still thinking hard about it though!

    • What?!

      • +4

what…as in what is he saying? or you are not aware about the offerings?
We are going crazy for saturn one mate : https://www.swatch.com/en-au/mission-to-saturn-so33t100/SO33…

        • I think Omega goofed by colouring the top two subdials. Makes the whole dial look like -> 😛

        • I only found out about this now. I’m literally going to go buy one tomorrow.

Would you think I should get there right on opening time? Is this something that will sell out super quick?

          • +1

@Pollywaffle: I dont assume ALL of the models to be going quick but people prefer buying blue tones first, earth tones next and brighter ones last - as per my experience.

          • +2

@Pollywaffle: People are already camping outside stores for tomorrow’s release. Expect long long lines. Maximum of two watches per person.

I would personally just wait till it’s available online for purchase. It’s not a limited edition so in a few weeks it will be easy to get. I’m planning to collect all of them and one day buy the OG Omega moonwatch. Will place the dozen in a watch box and call it my solar system. Haha

            • @ozeebee: don’t think you can camp out at chadstone ….huge shopping centre and they lock it up at night ……..

            • @ozeebee: Soooo I got to the Sydney store at 10:45 this morning. There were people everywhere along with some police. I went to queue up but the officer said they’ve run out of watches. The store only had 140 and just over 1,000 people turned up. He was super friendly and we chatted a bit. He said they didn’t know what was going on when they walked past.

Looks like I’ll have to wait for them online. A waste of $15 for parking 😭

              • +1

@Pollywaffle: No surprise. Masterstroke of marketing from Omega and Swatch.
Can’t wait to buy when it comes online.

                • +1

@ozeebee: It was strange though. The people who had queued for ages were still queuing at 10:45. The store opens at 10. So I don’t know why there was still a queue 45 mins after the store had opened.

        • Are these out?

        • Trueeee. The Earth one looks nice. 42mm is a bit big for me.

          • @maxwellish: I am going for saturn and sun. In melbourne it is only avl at chadstone so I guess would be bit tricky for me to go there but i will manage i guess.

        • Does anyone know how many Chadstone will get in stock tomorrow?

        • Wow that’s such a cool collab. Are these coming online later?

      • $380 and it’s a plastic case ….. but it does have a fun colour theme if you want a break from formal watches ……. and nicer than the invicta marvel joker watch ……

need to remember that swatch brand are targeted at fun fashion watches ….. unlike some of their other brands.

they bio ceramic 2/3 ceramic 1/3 plastic are not a new material and they have other watches using that material already for the $120-200 mark, so the extra for the moonwatch seems about right for the extra work ….and stocking some colours that will never sell ……

    • I've had my eye on this for a very long time, the pricing is really tempting but then omega swatch is such a beauty and I live mere metres away from the showroom! Really hard choices!

    • this is run of the mill 4R35, so not a tough decision to make if you already have similar movement(s)

    • Thanks. I didn't know that had happened. I thought you must be delirious. They look awesome. Pity I'm in Brisbane.

    • IT'S NOT AN OMEGA, IT'S A SWATCH!!!

      • +2

is it? dang. I am buying

        • I'm buying one too, but just don't brag because it's NOT AN OMEGA

  • nice watch op - tempting - 44.9mm lug to lug according to vid here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y0rYz0P4ngE&t=507s

    • It's smaller than a turtle

  • -2

I would be interested in this if it had numbers on the dial so I know what time it is. Looks like they forgot.

    • +1

Just add some stickers or use a marker for numbers.

    • Thankfully the watch also comes with a sharpie

  • So is the time on this always slower than normal watches?
