I've heard this is one of the best ACs, and really this is impulse buy territory - but is it really value if it's going into my backlog never to emerge?

    click

    • this is my 3rd time buying this game on PS: PS3 disc -> PS4 upgrade -> PS4 digital (n i think i also have this game from Xbox live gold).
but still wanna continue my playthrough now on ps5. have to re-buy this again as the ps3 disc to ps4 upgrade doesnt work on ps5 anymore….. hopefully my save file from ps4 is on my ps+ cloud saves…….

      • So I can use my ps3 disc of this to upgrade and get in for my PS4 for free?

I just went to buy it. Turns out I own it from a previous impulse buy and it's non-emergent in my backlog :)

Best AC game in the Franchise by FAR. Nothing even comes close. Haven't played the latest AC yet but played every other one prior. This game ages extremely well imo.

      • for someone who was completey disappointed with the first AC hype train , what makes this release any better?

The story is extremely engaging and made me actually care about the characters. Customisation of the character and ships you sail was a big plus.

          It has pirates.

        • Because it lets you tear around the caribbean as a pirate singing sea shanties. The sailing and sea warfare mechanics are so fun. The traditional AC stealth gameplay and storyline takes a backseat.

      • Haven't played the latest AC

Wouldn't bother with that one. Played about 6 hours waiting for it to get better, I only hated it more the further I got.

I like to think of it in terms of classic fantasy fairy tales and stories like The Hobbit etc. All these dragons going about gathering up huge mountains of gold and treasure etc. Do you think they spent any of it? No! They're dragons! WTF are they gonna do, buy a sports car or something? They just sat there on top of their piles of gold and enjoyed owning the gold, even though they never did anything with it.

This is my (and your) backlog - you don't buy these things to play them, just to sit on them and know that you own a sh*tload of them.

  • Lol I am just dling this to my PC from Ubi as I post, bought last week on SX but wanted to try it out on my new 3070Ti.
This is an awesome game with some of the best sea battles I have ever experienced, the rogue waves are brilliant.

This is the best AC game hands down.

It made sea shanties a thing before it was a thing.

Best AC for game play/naval warfare. For story, definitely the Altair/Ezio games.

  • I've bought this one a few times now. It's the last AC that has multiplayer and I'm a big fan of AC death match

    • Never played AC multiplayer, can you still get matches or is it dead?

  • Best AC. don't miss out

  • This was my first PS4 game

    Was good!!!!

Thanks OP. For $5 why not? Just add it to the pile of games that I want to play but never get time to.

  • I wish they'd bring back the Kenway's Fleet companion app.

  • Thia is a terrible assassins creed game. Its an absolutely great pirate game though, warfare is spot on, the character development is great, still looks good.
I feel they had a sorted solid game, and tacked on some AC bits as a kind of afterthought.

Present day bits are atrocious though

Well worth the money, naval battles are top notch.

  • It's a really good game. I played it recently on PC. I have it on PS4 and Xbox One, but it's hard for me to do 30 fps these days.

This was the last AC game that I didn't think was trash.

  • Origins is good as well

  • Bought freedom cry for 7.50 on steam, played it for like 40 hours, bought 4 but never finished it . Ironically own 4 twice, wiiu for $20 and pc for $12.
