  • These did not go out of stock, did they?

    • Nope

      • +3

Mate, it's just 2 days. Give me a break. Nobody said these would down way further. Go see my history I have upvoted many of your deals because they were good.

@[Deactivated]: Crypto is gambling. I don't like gambling. Got better things to do. And many users tried to get 3080 for 1200 but there were not enough stocks in the beginning and you know that.

            • -3

@[Deactivated]: Waiting price to drop is gambling as well. they can be OOS, or price might go up.

              • +3

@[Deactivated]: If no money is spent, he's not gambling. Buy crypto, money is spent, then it nosedives because Elon tweeted. That's gambling.

                • -1

@socks2807: Last time he tweeted dog barking to the moon, many made a lot of money.

                • @socks2807: elon tweets are very accurate, he got you in doge as early as 0.2c, he also sold on both btc tops last year…

being in cash is taking a position, you're gambling the value of the currency will not dramatically worsen

the us dollar has lost 98-99% of its value over the past 100 years vs gold

                  • @abctoz: Gamers like to hodl fiat money. You shouldn't say that. They may get upset.

                  • @abctoz: Don't conflate the value of gold which has stood for thousands of years with your tech bro pyramid scheme.

              • @[Deactivated]: Mate, I dont want a 3XXX series. I am thinking of 4XXX or a 7XXX. Why cant I live with that? I am and many others are not HODLing for price drops anymore. Just dont need these at the end of the life cycle.

They were cheaper on the weekend at $950 lots of brands to pick from

    • +2

Coincidently fell on Afterpay day - I can assure you it was not planned.

Where’d all the 3080 deals get to?!

  • Anyone know the RRP of 3080s and 3080 TIs in Aus?

    • -5

      Google knows.

    • +1

There's actually no public RRP's afaik for Australia. All we have is retail launch prices.

When 3080 launched they were around $1150-$1200. 3080 Ti's were always ridiculously overpriced being around $1800-$1900.

      • Cheers for that.

      • +1

i've read that the RRPs for australia are
        3090 - starting at $2,429
        3080 - starting at $1,139
        3070 - starting at $809

  • +3

Soon as the 3080 12gb returns I wanna get one

  • +2

Can go down another $100-150 I reckon.

    • +4

      Username doesn't check out.

  • whats a good price for the 3080 12gb?

    • The MSRP for it in the USA is around $40-50SD more than the 3080 Ti MSRP, it was released as a cashgrab while the 3080Ti was out of stock.

The 3080 10GB seems to be around 1300-1400 currently so I would say around 1500-1600 for the 12GB model is a "fair" price (expensive though)

Cheapest right now is $1652 after coupon code & "last one left"

How I wish I’d jumped on this deal

    • +4

Don't buy rtx 3080 12 gb it's a cash grab from nvidia there are better deals for rtx 3080 10 gb close to msrp. You will be paying extra $400-500 for 2gb more vram which is 3-5% more performance than 10gb one.totally not worth the extra money . So save you money and wait for 4000 gpu or buy the 3080ti .

      • +1

There are uses for the extra vram, a lot of machine learning based stuff just hard crashes if it runs out of video memory. That being said that's an issue I've encountered on my 1060 3gb, I'm not sure how much of a difference 10 to 12 gb would make, and I personally wouldn't pay hundreds extra for it.

      This was good price: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/689394

But very limited stocks and some reported got a refund.

    last call for all hodlers

gpu prices about to skyrocket with crypto price recovery

next opportunity will probably be early to mid 2023

    • maybe most hodlers are waiting for easter sales?

    • LOL you again.

      • im glad many got on board in the recent sales

just trying to help out the stragglers before it's too late

downvoting me only helps fragile egos who are scared to consider reality - they'll be whining here about GPU prices soon enough and they'll only have themselves to blame

        • +1

I bought my 3080 last week after Asus price cut so I am happy,
But your constant scaremonger tactic here is not helping the others. If you want to inform others, you need to present in more sincere posts, not cocky way.

    • Crypto were resilient as predicted. BTC on the way to $100k, and ETH to $10k.

Many focused on waiting for measly drop $150-$200 on GPU, instead they should invest on the coins that about to skyrocket.

    • +3

When a 3070 was $1100 you said prices wouldn't get any better for 12 to 18 months, here, a 3070 Ti is $999 and you are saying we need to buy now. I wouldn't be taking money advice from you anytime soon.

      • if you were actually paying attention i was saying within weeks, ie a window of opportunity

BEYOND that window you wont find better prices until the crypto bubble bursts which is probably early to mid 2023

        learn how to read

        • Don't cry to me because you are awful at predicting things, just stop giving such poor advice, you'll take people down with you.

          • +1

@FabMan: your reading comprehension is trash

            stay in school

            • @desync: Sentences end with full stops and when you start a new sentence, you should capitalise the first letter.

  • What's this equivalent to compared to last Gen's card? 2070 super?

    • +1

      Pretty much a 2080

    • +1

Should be a 3060Ti but the 2070S might be better on paper.

  • My GTX 1070 has 8GB … I don't know how they released 8GB models of 2+ generations of development and 1440-4k gaming.

    • +1

Yeh it was a worry for me when I got my 3070 when moving from a 1070. All I can say is I haven't noticed it struggling at 3440x1440, getting a little over 2x the performance of the 1070 at that resolution on high/ultra over several games.

      • +1

All good for 1440P for now. 4K future games is a different story. 10GB is a nice future proof for UWQHD.

    • +3

Doom Eternal and Far Cry 6 at 1440p max settings use more than 8GB and I need to turn the texture quality down on my 3070ti to avoid stuttering
