  • "This USB-C dock features an adjustable stand that allows you to mount your laptop or tablet vertically"…

How would you mount a laptop in this vertically?

    • You close the lid. Yes I know that means you can't dual screen. Some people like it and some people don't.

      • Gotcha. Yeah, was thinking dual. Ta.

Can still dual screen if laptop is connect to 2 display monitor.

          🤦

          • @Clear: I don't get the face palm - in fact, I had that reaction to the original comment.

The whole point of this 'laptop stand dock' is to allow you to connect to external monitors, keyboard, mouse, webcam, headset, and other peripherals, which are much better than the laptop's respective screen, keyboard, touchpad, webcam, mic, etc.

As such, since you won't be using those things on the laptop, you might as well have the laptop closed and stowed out of the way on the stand.

@brotherfranciz: Ok so when you have a laptop you can use the screen yeah? And when you plug in a monitor you get 2 screens yeah? Now when you close the lid and mount it into the stand you lose that first screen. Makes sense?

Now obviously you could always have another monitor plugged in. But the original comment was about how the laptop gets mounted vertically so all this extra stuff is irrelevant and changing the topic. You can't pull an extra monitor out of a closed laptop lid if you only had 1 monitor to begin with.

  • 4k @ 30hz is a killer. 60hz or else its not really a smooth experience

    • It's an old product on clearance. He why there's no 4K@60Hz.

Ive always liked closed clamshell but the biggest thing that annoys me is the power button inside when the lids closed

    • My work issued Lenovo TP14s says hello

    • Also if you have a Surface Book the thermal throttling is terrible. My work laptop runs at about 400mhz if I have the lid closed. Piece of crap laptop. Not even doing intensive work

  • Shows up as $83 for me

    • Looks to be expired now.

  • It's on clearance for a reason..

Doesn't work with my laptop, which my other cheap USB-C PD to HDMI hub works fine.
