Hi,
Can anyone recommend Unlocked 4G SIM Portable Modem for less than $50 and not generic ones from eBay?
Had purchased generic one from eBay and after few months it died.
Previous to that had purchased telstra one from woolies that was able to get unlock code for and it still working fine, however they don't sell this model anymore for the same $10 and newer models don't have unlock codes anymore.

yeah, that's what I did in the past. Purchased Telstra modem / cheap phone for $10 from Woolies and bought unlock code from eBay for $2.
Now the cheap phone / modem that I can see, don't have unlock codes available for them.
The unlock codes that I can find are for more expensive phones/ modems.Unless I'm not looking hard enough, hence I'm here =)
Would an Optus locked Huawei e3372 suit you? Selling for $29 with 4GB of data at Officeworks, Coles and Optus right now. I found one UK seller on eBay offering a code for ~ $1.94
I got excited about the price, but then googled it and saw it was a USB dongle.
Thank you for suggestion though, I was after portable modem, not usb one.@auozb: Oh, you mean a mobile hotspot or MiFi. How about this: an Optus E5577 currently $49 @ Coles. If you use it on Optus for a year or recharge it to the value of $100 they will unlock it for free. BTW, have you considered bumping the data inclusion on your phone plan and hotspotting it? Your phone might have a modem capable of higher transfer speeds.
I bought the Optus Huawei USB 4G Modem E3372 before covid & it was unlocked.
I can't guarantee this is the case still.Currently $29.00 @OW.
Thank you all for your suggestions, but I am after something like this:
https://shop.coles.com.au/a/national/product/telstra-mf910z-…but need unlock code for it, which they used to sell on eb but not anymore
or like this but under $50,
https://www.catch.com.au/product/huawei-e5573-4g-4gx-unlocke…
FWIW, I own the Telstra one and don't think it was ever locked.
Really? You can also purchase unlock codes from eBay sellers for some models which is often cheaper. Tethering to a mobile phone is an alternative to a modem.
