I'm thinking about purchasing Qantas Lounge tickets (Sydney) and wanted to know if and how it's changed from those who have used lounges recently. Is there still an atmosphere. How is food and drink served? Capped numbers? Better off going to a bar?
Noting this is for a young couple travelling domestic.
Lounge Experience When Travelling in 2022

It depends on what time is your flight and how long before your flight do you intend to arrive at the airport. I recently got a morning g flight out of Melbourne. The breakfast choices served are abysmal. While it is good to have a place to sit but I would not pay to use it if I was only going to be there for less than an hour.
F&B seems to be less offerings buffet style and more likely you need to order (some things are still self-serve) but I haven't observed any caps on head count being enforced.
If you plan on having a snack and more than one alcoholic drink each, buying passes will probably pay for itself, but you might need to spend more time at the airport than necessary to really get your moneys worth (unless you're stuck there anyway waiting for connections.)Thanks! First weekend away/holiday since baby and covid, albeit, domestic and weekend only, it's all we have to look forward atm, so we're in it for the drinks :) and some carbs to soak up the liquids.
I flew in December but used the Amex (Plaza Premium lounge) and the experience was good. No capped numbers and buffet food.
