Been eyeing a new kettle for a while and Russell Hobbs has always been on my watchlist and this seems like a banger deal. Not many reviews on this particular model (RHK700GCH), but there are plenty of reviews for the black (RHK700BLK) and the white (RHK700WHI) versions (4.6/5 stars).

Product Features:

  • Premium grey honeycomb-textured gloss plastic with rose gold accents
  • 1.7 litre capacity / 2400 Watts
  • Rapid Boil technology - boils 1 cup in 43 seconds
  • Push button lid
  • Removable, washable filter
  • Perfect Pour Spout that prevents any splashes and spills
  • Water gauge window

I recently replaced my Breville crystal clear Kettle with a Russell Hobbs Brooklyn Glass and it boils 1.7L significantly faster! πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ

    • Yeah this one is 2400W, usually kettles are around 1600-1800W.

      • will it trip the breaker if running the kettle with other appliances on the same circuit

        • 2400W is 10 amps. Most domestic power circuits are protected by a 16A, and sometimes 20A, MCB. If you were using this kettle and another high load appliance like a toaster you may get a trip.

Good to know, my parents have a Breville Crystal Clear and I was looking to get a glass one too but may consider the RH one now.

  • Ordered one, Thanks OP.

    Premium grey honeycomb-textured gloss plastic

Is it made of premium material? Or the colour is called "premium grey"?

  • Worked at an electrical retailer through uni, and Russell Hobbs were consistently the least reliable small appliance brand we held, and generally made of cheaper materials than it would appear in marketing. Things might have changed in the years since, but I'd still avoid them!

    • What is your recommendation?

      • +1

The bias I took away was for Breville/Kambrook in the first instance as quality products without being dramatically overpriced. Sunbeam as an ok-enough alternative.

  • Yeah I would avoid Russell knobs.
