Don't care if it is official but are they any good?

If not find me another good deal.

Few bucks more but at least you'll know it's real.
And if you're planning to use it on a PC, you need to buy a separate adaptor.

I bought one of the knock off ones from eBay and they're not bad at all. At around 80% cheaper than a genuine MS controller I'd be willing to tolerate a few imperfections, but frankly I haven't noticed anything wrong with it.

I wish the same could be said for knock-off Wii controllers - the one I tried always powered off right in the middle of a game.
