[Afterpay] Segway Ninebot Kickscooter Air T15 $499.79 Delivered @ mobileciti_estore eBay

210
AFPYDY

On sale is this budget escooter from Segway that's designed to be light weight at only 10.5kg with an automatic folding system and good for short or inner city commutes.

It has a max speed of 20km/h, typical range of 15km, 15° max incline, 300W nominal power, rear wheel drive, puncture free tyres, electronic/press brake, IPX4 water resistance and suitable for people up to 100kg.

For reviews I recommend checking out this short video which covers all the basics and shows it in action. In my opinion I think the customisable front RGB LED strip is pretty cool.

      Queenslanders can't relate. 😉

  • Hey clear, this or the e22 you posted earlier?

Great price OP. Due to it's compact size when folded up this is one of the few scooters you're allowed to take on Transperth busses and trains during peak hour, so it's great for the last mile commutes. I use this to get to the train station from home (~15 mins) and from the train station to work (~10 mins). The range is pretty low but I can just get a full round trip to work and back without charging at work while on sports mode. If you need to go any further would suggest charging at work.

Using Standard or eco mode might stretch out the KMs, but in my opinion is not worth it as it's a pretty low powered scooter and these modes will struggle on hills. On flats you should hit 20-25kph no problems.

My real only gripe with this (and it might be the case for all ninebot scooters?) is the ear piercing blood curdling beep it lets off when you plug or unplug the charger - it's truly jarring and horrible and seemingly no way to turn off, and has a habit of letting a screamer go randomly while charging in a quiet office.

    • Thanks for the write up. It certainly sounds perfect for the type of commute you're doing. I absolutely love the design of this and work in a city small enough for it, but there's a lot of hills and I have to drive to make the distance to my work.

That beep when charging applies to all Xiaomi/Segway scooters it seems. I don't think it's that loud tbh but in an office environment I can understand that.

    • The other gripe with this is the waterproof rating, which isn't enough for rain. Kind of a deal breaker as a commute option.

      • Yes! I've heard this is an issue for some. I generally only scoot in on nice days, and if it does happen to rain at least I can take it on the bus at peak hour without problems cause it's so compact. In winter or if there's a chance of rain, It's car all the way.

        • I don't know if it's different for other models, but for this one the beep is tied to the horn - so it's the same piercing scream as hitting the horn while riding.

Interested in puncture-free tyres features as I already bought 2 inner tubes for my bike. :(

    • +3

Unfortunately with solid tyres you feel every bump a lot more compared to tyres with tubes. In the Air T15 Segway have used PU foam inside to lessen the blow and helps make it more puncture free like pneumatic tyres in some of the other models.

You can always add green slime tyre sealant to your tubes to help prevent punctures.

  • Will we ever see a G30 Max on sale again =(

  • What is the law re helmets on scooters?

    • When hiring a Lime, the law is 'look but don't touch' (it's impossible to remove the helmet)

  • Okay scooter for that price but has no suspension so if you go over bumps or humps then your going to feel it.

In NSW these are illegal to use in public roads, footpaths, bike paths or public carparks!

On thursday 17th march, cops were out in force at haymarket/central booking people using electric scooters!

One day I hope to make a scooter post where someone doesn't feel the need to point out the laws around NSW being sucky

      • +7

The more we discuss it, the more people know about it. The more people know about it (and complain), the quicker the laws will change.

Damn, I literally scoot through Haymarket / Central everyday for work - going to be a bit more vigilant, really hope they don't ruin it.

    • man this is stupid, people not disturbing others. if they could book the creeps/drunks in that area it would be better

  • Are these good for door dash delivery?

    • I'd recommend something more range. I know people who use the Segway G30 with a seat and bags attached. Up to 65km range with those.

Unfortunately they haven't been on sale for quite a while

      • Thanks, will check that out

  • Has anyone received theirs? What are your thoughts?
