Flight Help - Asia Trip

Hey guys,

I'm planning a trip around Asia with my wife at the end of the year and we had the below countries in mind. Do you have any suggestions as to be best way to book these (cost, more One World if possible)? I'm a Platinum Qantas FF so I was looking at doing a RTW fare but it seems like it may not be allowed (I might just be doing something wrong). I would prefer to fly with One World as much as possible but only if its possible of course. I am flexible with the order.

Any help would be much appreciated :)

Destinations (based in Syd):
- Singapore
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- Cambodia
- Japan
- Korea
- Taiwan
- Malaysia

    Is this a budget trip? Or you have some cash to burn?

    I'll just tell you my experience…

    Expensive
    Not expensive if you don't stay in the touristy spots
    Good value
    Good value but not worth going there for almost any reason. (helps to not stay in touristy spots)

    Go to Laos IMO. Check out a YT channel called 'Now in Lao'.

    A logical itinerary is to start in Singapore and work your way up north to Japan or vice versa. You could fly Qantas into Singapore and out of Japan and just buy point to point tickets in between with whichever airline has the best schedule and price. I wouldn't bother chasing oneworld airlines within Asia unless Malaysia Airlines or Japan Airlines happen to have the best schedule and price. I wouldn't buy a Cathay Pacific flight since who knows how much longer they can survive. Some people don't like Malaysia Airlines either because of what happened to their two planes. Whatever benefits you want to use with your Qantas Platinum is not likely to be worth the extra cost and inconvenience of chasing those three oneworld airlines.
