Update: I can confirm this isn't a pricing error because it came in one of their emails. :) In my opinion, Fishpond is pretty decent site - true, they do make some stupid pricing errors sometimes, but they always refund if you ask.

Thing is though, it's so incredibly difficult to find now for some reason. GAME don't stock it online, and EB is charging $76 for a pre-owned copy. And importers like OzGameShop are out of stock, and UK stores like Zavvi/TheHut simply don't stock it anymore.
People use it to mod their wii. It's one of like 4 games that can mod your wii now and they all go up in price.
Mmm.. I see nothing but bad reviews for fishpond.com.au.. But for 16.29 it might be worth the gamble.

I've used Fishpond many times for ordering textbooks/games online. All of my experiences have been good (the shipping takes a little while), apart from the $14 xbox controller that im sure everyone remembers. Even still, it wasn't that bad, they refunded everyone their money, and if you made the effort to complain they gave you $10 store credit as well.

Actually bought another item alongside the uncharted/ssbb and am regretting it now and never planning on shopping @ fishpond again if your going to treat your customers like that
I wish they wouldn't blame "the supplier" every time this happens. My guess is Fishpond autonomously extracts pricing from wholesaler databases, adds their mark-up, and puts the price on their website. But their system isn't smart enough to recognise when a supplier's price drops below a certain threshold, or even to zero, so the Fishpond site ends up displaying their markup only. Obviously they would lose money if they actually sold to customers at this price, so they claim it's a stock problem, blame the suppliers, and screw their customers who paid money in good faith that this was a legitimate sale item. Fishpond needs to step up and take responsibility when this happens, and honour the contract they have made with their customers, even if it means taking a loss. Otherwise they will continue to alienate customers and lose more and more business.
Either that or it was a deliberate bait advertising tactic.
So you are never going to get this title back in stock again? Why not do the honorable thing and fulfill the orders when you source stock. The fact that you can't find stock at the right price is frankly not the customers fault.
I am sure that you are within your T&Cs but this is a sure fire way of p#@$ing off a lot of customers and ensuring your name is mud on Ozbargain (even more than before).

Is it worse than I thought, then. If not even you could get it, it must mean that they didn't have a single copy. They surely needed a quick injection of money and made this little scam to grab our money and then return it much later (by the time they should have already delivered!) with an insincere apology.
Worse off, after my holidays abroad, I didn't realize that that stupid $16 dollar purchase pushed my credit card limit and I got hit with a $10 overlimit fee. And silly me still thought "well, SMBB for $26 is still a great deal!" sigh
Will never buy again from this company and will let everyone know about this every time another of their "promotions" appear in this website.

I am never ordering from Fishpond again, I'm making sure all review websites know about their dodgy scheme to get an injection of money and notify their customers a few days later that they are out of stock. FISHPOND YOU SUCK!

Yeah, i'm spewin'….just got 2 emails in relation to this order, received my cancellation email for Uncharted Drakes Fortune yesterday, and it provides a search link to the "exact" same product at 6x the price, although they claim that they can't source it !!!!!
Went to phone them, but you can only contact them via email…with a 24-48 hour response time…lucky, i was gonna let someone have it !!!!

And to think that just the day after I jumped into this fiasco I got an email from ozgameshop alerting me that they had just restocked SSBB (for $46) and I happily deleted it believing myself already in the possession of a $16 copy. As you could expect, by now they are also out of stock.
In hindsight, we all should have realised that a game that's so hard to find nowadays and going for such a ridiculous price was proverbially too good to be true.
