Will this improve the audio quality of my Zoom meetings?

    • +10

Yes. In fact, you can even hear what they think of you.

      • -3

Does it have a feature to emphasise words whilst you are talking?

        • +4

No but it has a feature to grey what you say..

        • They will literally hear the bolded words.

  • I have a Sound Blaster ZxR, would this be better if I'm primarily using powered speakers?

Looking to free up a PCIe slot inside my desktop.

    • What do you need a soundcard for with powered speakers?

      • Motherboard audio is generally pretty awful, and I've had the ZxR since launch so kept using it through multiple PC upgrades

        • Not all motherboard audio is terrible.
Some of the realtek 8xx series was pretty rotten but the 12xx series is good.
That said, you could just use a cheap DAC that at least has a nice chip in it.

    • X4 has a DNR of 114 dB compared to ZxR's 124 dB, but X4 has features like Super X-Fi, SXFI Battle mode, SmartComms kit, EQ modes, and a mic button. You can also plug it into other devices like headsets if you want to!

      • Thank you. Is the audio quality noticably better?

        • Exactly what I'd like to know. I also have the ZxR and wondering if I should jump on this…

  • Any experts here regarding how these match up to a topping MX3? this looks so much better in terms of aesthetics so potential switch it out for these…

  • Beware of International transaction charge !!! This mob process payment oversea.

  • I have the Rig 500 E-Sports edition headphones

    https://www.ebgames.com.au/product/pc/242882-rig-500-pro-e-s…

They already came with a code for Dolby Atmos for Windows

Will using this Soundblaster with them make any improvement to my sound?

    • On top of what the headset offer, the Sound Blaster X4 is also a headphone amplifier, so it would improve the audio and further enhance your gaming experience with both SXFI BATTLE Mode and Scout Mode features.

Here’s the Sound Blaster buy guide if you want to consider others, depending on your usage and devices: https://au.creative.com/soundblaster/#buying-guide

      • I am struggling to choose between the GC7, X4 and G6

Primary usage gaming. Don't care about portability as it's for use on a desktop.

        • If you're using it just for gaming, we would recommend either the GC7 or G6. The GC7 has programmable buttons for you to save your audio presets and assign custom keystrokes, has Super X-fi technology, and offers gaming features like SXFI BATTLE Mode & Scout mode. On the other hand, the G6 has audiophile-grade specs, giving you quality audio as a virtual 7.1, 32-bit / 384 kHz, 130 dB USB DAC.

      • Can I also clarify, do these Sound Blaster units work with USB headphones or do they only work with standard headphones (3.5mm jack?)

        • Our cards don't work with USB headsets, just 3.5mm analog ones

          • @CLPL: OK well I have settled on a GC7.

Any chance of a discount code?

Back in the 1990's every computer store stocked Creative Soundblaster products - these days almost none do.

    I thought this was a robo-vacuum..

  • I have X3, what's the improvement X4 over that?

    • +1

X3's audio specs are slightly better than X4, but X4 offers features like SmartComms Kit and Battle Mode which may interest you, depending on your usage. It also has Optical in connectivity which X3 doesn't.

  • Thanks, have ordered one to replace my old X-fi Titanium which doesn't work so well under Windows 10. The ability to easily switch between speakers and headphones sold it for me.
