I was searching for an acoustic guitar for a while, and read up on the Alvarez / K Yairi story and stumbled across this deal.

All solid woods, bone nut, 49% off rrp. I also searched a month on gumtree/facebook and everyone wants like 80% of RRP on their used guitar so I never found any good deals.

I'd say that this brand new deal easily beats buying used in this price point.

  U need to join private guitar groups.. or put filters to notify you say on marketplace. I scored Maton ea80c for $900 through fb. Just needed a good service.

    Weird neg. If U patient and negotiate and in the proper FB guitar groups you can scoop good deals. But again youd need to know a bit about guitars and know what U after. Even after gigging for past 20 yrs when you see a savings of over 2k you can't resist.

  I have a Mahogany back and sides (Yamaha) and find it's much more of a "softer/muffled" sound rather than the more "spritely/twangy" rosewood.

  Some prefer it, but it's worth considering.
