Note it’s a running shoe designed for people who a flat footed.

    • Hi there, do you happen to know what functional designs makes it suitable for flat foot? I've been running with Kayano for many years and happy with them. Am slightly flat footed but not severe. Curious to know more about what exactly they do to help flatfoot

Its to do with where more foam/support is in the shoe.
I think stability shoes like kayano have more support around the arch presumably to make up for lack of arch if you have flat foot.

      • Mostly that it's wide along the entire shoe, stiff shank that resists torsion + heel cup that holds the heel of your foot in place.

        • Thank you guys for the explanation.

    • My podiatrist recommended these to me, I am flat footed. Never knew all my life until now.

Great shoes, my only gripe is they get very hot so they aren't the best in the middle of summer but probably amazing for winter.

      • During the OzBargain birthday celebration last year I met a fellow OzBargainer who happens to be a podiatrist.

He mentioned that it's also suitable for those whose walking tendency was with inward rolling motion, of which I never realised but I apparently do.

  • I've been looking for a deal on Kayanos. I'm after a size 11 in 2e width. Hard to get the wide sizes in Australia at a good price.

    • yep Kayanos are kinda niche and don't seem to be discounted very often

  • Wow still quite expensive…

yep unless you specifically were looking for good stability shoes these are pricey and you better of looking for other deals.

      • They were $130 at outlet store over Xmas.

I feel like kayanos have gotten worse in terms of build and comfort over the last 4years

  • Got my kayano 28 recently and it's my third kayano (21 - 25 - 28). Would advise to get 2e width as I feel standard width is getting bit narrower with every update

    • I got 10.5 for width but is this 2e you speak of wider? If so, I should get those next time. Mine are pretty tight.

  • Fail. Almost all sizes gone for both of them. Size 12 is the only common size available for both of them.

  • Good find OP for a stable shoe.

  • Decent price, especially after the cashback. I received mine today and they appear to be a grey import. The production/serial number has been removed off the inner shoe label. Quality seems okay but who knows with grey imports. Buyer beware I guess.

  • What are the best woman cross-training shoes?
