Can Tear-down of GPU Impact Re-Sale Price?

Hey everyone :) . I was thinking of selling my gpu soon which has no warranty left. Since, it's a bit noisy I want to replace the thermal paste as well prior to selling. But now, it got me thinking if it will push buyer's away instead since I will be breaking the sticker and opening the gpu?

Thanks for reading.

Yes, definitely. I wouldn't buy an opened one.

  • Average GPU buyer wouldn't know or care. After all it's second hand and up to them to evaluate and test the unit themselves. You can always note your fix and price accordingly.

    Just don't say it's 12 months old :)

  • Just say you opened her up to replace a noisy fan and while you were there, you decided to change the thermal paste as well.
Everyone knows that the thermal paste that is applied in the factory is crap. If I was going to crank up that bad boy, I would replace the thermal paste as well. I hope you are going to use a good paste when you do the deed

Yeah, I will definitely let them know about it when I sell. Plus, warranty is over anyway. I will apply some Kryonaut tomorrow :) .

  • I would like to know why Radeon 6000xx cards are not available here. the whole site is saturated with Nvidia. I have nothing against Nvidia just like Radeon.

I guess these cards are in short supply why have Nvidia so much stock compared to Radeon.
