Dick Smith Powerhouse Frankston - Closing Down Sale (20% - 50% Off)

Moved to Forum: Original Link

Reason: No actual deal was found/identified by anyone

Just called into Dick Smith in Frankston and surprised to see they're closing down. Signs up saying between 20% - 50% Off Storewide (from memory).
Spoke to guy in store who said they're due to close at end of May, sooner if stock goes.

well, according to the experience from the game sale, I suspect anything worth buying will be reserved by the staff.

yse, the good sales are the ones where the staff are complaining they are not allowed to buy anything.

  • Tiger Woods 2000 could still be available with Fifa 1998

I went to the Dick Smith at north parramatta and found all the stuff I was interested in had 15-20% off, but that was off the original RRP (Example WDTV Live - 15% off $147 = $124.95. Dick Smith standard online price $129) so even though it is technically discounted, its not really 15%. Kind of misleading… pays to shop around!

Yes same with blu rays where I went- 40% off but even though they had price stickers they said off original price not the sticker price. Poor.

I agree. North Parra pricing is a joke

OK, now to get the inevitable Frankston jokes out; They're closing because…
"…there's already enough Dicks in Frankston"
"…they insisted people start to pay for things, so the customer base dried up"
"…TV's are getting too large to run with under one arm"
"…it's a pr-emptive request from Police as all the goods will end up stolen at some point"

    Thank you

I thought that you would have claimed that all the stock in the Frankston DSE was stolen from other DSEs :)

So Woolies have finally screwed up DSE to the point they are closing stores all over the place eh?
Congratulations to the genius who decided to "re-brand" a successful 30 year old franchise.

Well done middle-management marketing guys, go pissant-logic MBAs!
    Dicks…

    • They all still get paid, so what do they care?

Dick Smith @ Forest Hill Chase is also closing down.

Dick Smith at chadstone closed, there was nothing on the last few days that worth it.

Well maybe 3 Wii's that were cheap, but thats it.

    • Did they have anything left in the store before they closed or will they just transfer everything to different stores after they closed?

    no specific bargain listed

    • -1

so there is a specific bargain listed?

  • +4

No bargains to see at Dick Smith Frankston
The store is pretty much empty except for the overpriced laptops and piles of 20% off RRP dvds meaning not overly cheap

Amplifiers and Home Entertainment even with 30% off are still more expensive than JB or Good Guys next door
for example the VSX-300 they insist on clearance price of $419
    strange
    http://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/67852

All the TVs are VIVO or DSE brand LCD (no LED LCD stocked there)

Most cables and tools are already gone

most the laptops are still only 10% off

  • This isn't identifying any bargain. It's also duplicating other posts about closing stores.

so why are you negging the deal instead of reporting it to the mods to be moved to the forums? or is that too simplistic for you?

  • The signs say 20-60% off but i couldn't find anything that was actually 60% off.
TVs, DVDs, keyboards, GPS, mice, laptops, speakers, ipod docks, all 20% off.
Headphones were 30% off, saw a few things 40% off but can't remember what.
There's no PS3 or 360 games left, theres a couple of laptops, a couple of TV's, one or two 360 consoles.
That's about all I can remember. They close at the end of the month so the prices may get discounted a bit more for the stuff they can't sell (if anything)
