Old AGP Video Card Value

I found some old AGP video cards in storage and before I chucked them in ewaste I checked the ebay sold listings.
https://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=agp+video+…

I was was surprised to see that old AGP cards seem to be selling for good money e.g. Ti4200s have sold for $115 & $130 plus postage.
Why are people paying so much money for these old card??

  • Since COVID there has been a boom in retro computing and gaming, and people are building their dream rig from 1998 or whatever.

  • Nostalgia, collectors, content creators, legacy computer systems.

  • Old PC's still in use. I bought a Nvidia GT 630 brand new for around $70 years ago but have got no idea where to buy one today. If you have a PC from that era, it'll be cheaper to buy a replacement video card for $130 than to replace the whole PC with something newer.

  • +1

    Ti4200s have sold for $115 & $130 plus postage.

I wouldn't exactly say that was the norm. Look past those and prices quickly drop to a $$ amount which just isn't worth the hassle of dealing with eBay ($30-$50) and the fees

    • True. Those prices were the max. But since I have a few Ti4200 I think I'll list them for $80 and see if there is any interest.

      • Can you guarantee that they work though? Looks like the higher end prices are companies with some form of trust

        • I think that I have just one PC in storage with an AGP slot.
I'll have to dig it out and see if its still works in order to test the cards.

  • I could have made $600 when I moved last year, but the bin got them….

  • X800 XT man that was a good card

Not sure if retro or required for legacy PC to run old systems (industrial or scientific)

  • Will you ship to Perth?

  • tnt2 my first card
