I was able to order one just by going through the registration process - no edu email or other credentials requested.

  • 4% shopback cashback. Op, how do you get 10% discount? Thanks

    • You just add the additions and it will automatically give you the discount. Doesn't say it, but the total shows it.

This has more nits than a primary school students hair

  • Available through the edu-store to if you've got access to that without the need for a passcode

  • I thought Edu-store automatically disqualify shopback and cashrewards

    • Didn't know about that.

  • Can anyone confirm if CR/SB work on Lenovo EDUCATION, on their respective pages they say it isn't?

  • Thanks OP.

If anyone even wants to attempt gaming on this the extra RAM is ESSENTIAL!

16GB will be needed for any kind of sensible gaming, keeping in mind you'll reserve 4GB or so of that for graphics.

But more importantly dual channel in any integrated GFX AMD rig straight up nearly doubles performance of the iGPU in nearly all titles.

    • I don’t do that much gaming but do you think it’s worthwhile waiting for the AMD 6000 series for that bump in Gaming performance with the Igpu?

      • Depends on how long ur willing to wait? Apparently 7 weeks for my config wait time. And if u don't game, is it worth the wait and may be price difference? I bought a TV and paid premium with HDMI 2.1 VRR etc for gaming but never used it :P

        • Did you order one of these in this thread? 7 weeks to delivery?

      • +1

If you wait these will dry up and the 6000 series will cost a bit, but they will indeed perform better.
I reckon they got good at 4000 series, and everything after has always been a bit nicer.

The iGPU is surprisingly capable, but depends heavily on memory bandwidth, so these in single channel config really cripple any gaming potential.
Add to that needing to reserve a portion of memory for video, reserving 2GB of 8GB leaves 6 for the system, a bit tight really even for ordinary use.
With 16GB in dual channel the GFX performance unleashes and if you reserve 4GB for GFX you now have a more comfy 12GB for windows / apps.

  • Avoid Lenovo as their warranty and service experience is poor. Have had to use them three times and they never honour the on-site warranty. They always want to repair at their service centre, and will try and claim customer damage even without inspecting the unit. You never get to deal with someone in Australia and I've had to go through ACCC each time to get them to comply with warranty. I bought my unit through their Australian website. Not a grey import.

    • Who is better though? I couldn't order a part for 12-month old Dell XPS15, and support/spare parts gave me the run around the whole time.

I agree with @Fuchal. The support service experience is poor with Lenovo. However, I have had rarely any issues with their hardware. I have/had T470s (with premium warranty), Ideapad S series from 2-3 years back. The only time I called Lenovo was to get more info on T470s (4-year old) fan. And Lenovo's pricing was not bad.

On the other hand, I have bought 2 DELLs (XPX and a high-spec Inspiron). I like those machines too but each had a part issue. For Inspiron, I had to get a camera and fan replaced. For DELL, the support services experience is excellent (maybe because I always get an onsite next day warranty). Though, I had to wait for 2 weeks to get a camera part to arrive during COVID.

I usually buy a Lenovo without an additional warranty and DELL always with a 3-year premium warranty.

  • Thanks! I bought this through the EDU Store with my Uni email.

  • Thanks, it seems like edu store has cheaper rate than parent store.
