great deal, was hoping to see some AAA's too

    • +2

Yeah, how about some Eneloop AAA deals?

    • +2

firstly, it has nothing to do with this deal.
secondly, regardless the spelling, they conveyed the message perfectly fine.
Language is only a TOOL for communication.
      So chill out dude.

  • I pay about $3 for Sanyo 2700 mAh NiMH's, in Qty 16 (ie 16x for $48 INCLUDING shipping from Hong Kong), of course, depending on our Au$'s value -vs- the US$.

With 35% more "charge" in each cell than the "deal's" cells, I think I get -much- better value for about the same price. YMMV.

    • +2

Can you post the link to the site you buy them from please ?

    • these are LSD batteries, the ones you have doesn't sound like it's the same

    • +2

      Hi IVI,

Better value depends on how the battery is used. for applications that are light duty such as clocks, remote controls, infrequently used torches, the eneloops are a better fit as they retain more of their charge (upto 75% of original charge at 3 years)..

High capacity batteries such as the ones you mentioned which are not low self discharging, loose around .5% to 1% charge per day (wikipedia) and after a few months sitting in a shelf need to be recharged. However high capacity batteries are useful and more practical in high power situations (digital radios, flash units, high power tourches etc)…

Given the price we generally see of these eneloops (1500 cycle versions) this seems like a relatively good price… 1800 cycle versions were released late last year but I haven't seen those on the Australian market yet..

    • Sounds pretty good - show us what you've got!

Actually they sound different enough (bulk & >mAh) to be put in as a separate deal

  • +1

This is new, shopping square normally charge $20 shipping.

  • +1

    Is this genuine?

  • I neeeeeeeeeeeeeeed AAA

  • +1

It says "The items will be shipped directly from Overseas Supplier by Air Parcel." Does this mean there's a chance they're knock-offs. Thoughts?

    • just means they are shipped direct from China Warehouse to save on costs .. I guess

      • +1

Eneloop's are made in Japan AFAIK

        • The Japanese try to 'warehouse' as little as possible at home now, space = dollars there! ;)

        • Or they are counterfeit.

        • FWIW, I just checked my recent Eneloop purchases, which were emblazoned with Aussie crap all over the packaging, I doubt this same package style goes to every country in the world.

SS could be accused of a few things, but IIRC selling dodgy stuff isn't one of them. I think you're calling shenanigans a little early here. Danilochan's been around here a long time. I'm sure if their supplier fibbed to them & shipped knockoffs, we'd get refunds & apologies pronto! ;)

  • AAA please

My current budget LSD battery choice is the Hobby King Turnigy:
    AA 2200 mAH
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10456__Turnigy_AA…
    AAA 800 mAH
    http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10899__Turnigy_AA…

    • i've used these for years and are also very good.

    • I use these as well.
A good price and very reasonable postage costs.
Have tested some of my AA ones on a LaCrosse BC-700 and they come up around 2300mAH.

    • +1

What do you use to recharge them?

Also what in practical usage terms does the different mAH ratings mean?

      • +1

Just have a quick skim through all of the recent eneloop bargains Wally, there's been much discussion of the pros & cons of various charging methodologies, as well as various alternatives on offer! Click on the eneloop 'related products' link at the top right of the page! ;)

Also what in practical usage terms does the different mAH ratings mean?

Short story, essentially how long they will last in your device under load until they need recharging. More mAH = longer time between charges! :)

      • I've been using a MAHA Mh-C9000 charger for the past couple of years and have been very happy with it.

    • Thanks for the recommendation. I picked up some AAAs and the eneloops here. For 8 eneloops it worked out to be about $5 more than getting 8 of the Turnigy's. Hopefully there's $5 worth of value over the next several years!

    • +4

Wow, aren't you the witty one. Oh wait, no, you're not in the slightest.

    • +2

Think of it this way Suddo, at these prices you could afford enough to jump-start your VR Commodore; and these will actually charge back up again! :p

  • thanks got couple for me

  • Luckily the shipping is not one million dollars. I am impressed!

  • Seems to be sold out.

  • More available. Just bought 2 packs.

  • I'm quite certain that these are counterfeit unless the rep prove me wrong.

    • Based on?

      • +3

Based on the packaging. Look at the top right hand corner of the eneloop label. There is a TM on it. Genuine eneloop does not have this on the label.

        • Eh. You're right about that.

          REP?

        • nicely spotted

      • +1

Another thing I picked out is notice the sentence at the bottom of the package

after 3years of storage once fully charged

How can they forget the space between the 3 and years.

        • nicely spotted

        • Could still be Japanese (battery) product, with local China/HK packaging?

Dunno, you might be right; but I'm just throwing it out there! ;)

        • The same '3years' can be found on the packaging on the official Sanyo site.
So the only difference is the TM label.
I think these are genuine. Or at least I have no reason to think otherwise yet.
My Powerex MH-C9000 will confirm when I receive my three packs.

  • +3

Hmm I bought a pack before the fake concerns came up.

Rep? I'll be wanting a refund if there's any question of authenticity.

  • Seems legit. Still nice if rep can confirm

  • Seems more fake than legit when comparing with a genuine pack. Will await a rep to confirm one way or another.

  • +1

No glitter. No rainbow. No pony. No sale.

    Why oh why? :(

  • REP where are you?

  • Waiting for confirmation of legitimacy

Can these be charged in any battery charger or does it have to be a special one? I have a duracell charger could I use that?

    • +1

It is interesting that the rep is ignoring all requests to confirm the legitimacy of the product they sell. It is obvious that the rep has logged in numerous time since they posted this deal. This clearly shows the kind of customer service they provide.

      • +1

Cut him some slack dude, it's Saturday! ;)

        • Dude, let's cut more slack shall we?

        • That's entirely up to you ca6leguy, it makes no difference to me if you wanna keep your knickers in a bunch over nothing! ;)

  • Shopping Square picture shows 1500mAh. Hope they aren't pulling another swifty.

    • Look more closely.

  • Ordered two lots, lets see how we go

  • +1

sorry, has the shipping costs changed, shipping to sydney 2032 is now 5.95?

  • Okay, let's see if these things are genuine.

    • So what is the verdict? Are they legit?

  • Has anyone received their battery order from this deal yet?
I've just sent a message to SS.
My order was placed on the 27th of April. Dispatched on the 30th of April. So far I still haven't got them.

    • I haven't either. Similar dates.

    • Same dates here and haven't received them either.

      • I received a reply from SS this morning. Apparently items that are shipped from HK take 10 to 15 working days. We're on 12 working days if we start counting from the 1st of May, hopefully they'll arrive this week.

  • received them today, dispatched on 2/5.
    They are glitter 2000mAh

  • For future reference. I've ordered and received mine. And yes, as stated above, they are glitter. I put them in my Maha charger and can confirm that they perform as stated (2000mAh). I'm happy with Shopping Square (although the delivery did take a few weeks).

  • Received mine 21st May, ordered 30 April. Shipped in a plain paper envelope and pretty banged up. If this was eBay it'd be getting 1 star for shipping.

2000mAh, 1500 cycle, non glitter. Analysing on Maha now.

In future I'll give the Shoppingsquare shipped-from-overseas deals a pass. Prices aren't that great (in the case more expensive than the Dick Smith Eneloop specials) and not worth the hassle.
