Pretty decent price for a decent machine. Should be stackable with cashback as the coupon is internal so you do the math

Referrer and referee get $20 after referee's 1st purchase of $90+.
The i7 version is $1479, is that a good deal?
Most reviews did not find a big difference in performance between the two. The i5 took a big jump this generation so it's a great processor
Very helpful, thank you
I7 throttles pretty quickly making this i5 delivering better performance in many workloads. i7 got a bigger cache which may be helpful in some workloads but then this i5 delivers overall sustainable performance. So not worth the money at all
I jumped on it as it has AU warranty + 300 nit screen & got $168.87 CB from CR
The code MARCH isn't listed on CR?
Good point, If it s the touch screen version i will totally jump on it.
No touch screen.
It also seems to have bad reviews re trackpad problems.
If you read the terms it says codes generated by Lenovo are eligible even if they are not listed on CR website
Ah thanks
Does this one have a better processor, and is it better having 2 x 8GB RAM?

I am looking at a desktop replacement for office type work, so not so concerned about quality of screen as i will use monitor. I just want something that performs well when multitasking.
I would go for the ThinkPad if I didn't need a QHD and Thunderbolt. It has a much better CPU and more ports. It's a bit heavier though so be mindful of that if you want to carry it around.
I am using mine (moon white Carbon edition ) exactly as you mentioned since mid last year and it performs like a champ. It can take it all without a sweat. Officework, video edit, multiple VM's etc etc. In balance and performance mode the fan kicks in some times especially in warm days but not really an issue. So far a very reliable machine even though it is using mediocre Intel processor. In 2022 if you can stretch a little bit more I would suggest AMD version of Slim Carbon Edition. But if this is the price budget you are looking for then go for it.
I just went to Singapore, bought a Fujitsu UH-X i5-4ZR1B94096
which is exactly the same spec except it's only 748g!
It was only $1420 SGD after TRS, ~$1422 AUD
https://www.bestdenki.com.sg/2915197-fujitsu-laptop-uh-x-i5-…
It's also only 1080p monitor and 3400mAh battery
loved it so much, it's so light, great for business/leisure trip around the world.
small battery isn't an issue to me as it can be charged by 40W/65W PD usb power bank
Just when many of us are proud thinking that our 1-1.1 Kg Carbon Fiber powerhouse laptops are the holy grail of portable computing visualizing Luther in Mission Impossible(Luther Stickell: [to Krieger] Thinking Machine laptops? I'm talking about the 686 prototypes, with the artificial intelligence RISC chip.) what immeasurable harm did we do to you to spoil our party like this with your 748g(not even 750g 3/4of a kilo) japanese Kryptonite???
Damn Japanese!!!
Next ticket via singapore then :) :) :)
I am sorry to upset you mate, but Fujitsu has another Japanese local model that's only 634g lol
However it's much more expensive and only 128gb SSD, I will wait for another 2 years.

Enjoy your trip.😂
I'm crying… I'm gonna have to neg you. Sorry.
And did you see the variety of ports that they managed to put in that nibble beast? Oh ghosh/satan/devil… and they have the 50Wh battery option in that one which is same as this lenovo model.
Indeed have to neg you for destroying our sleeps for near future :) :) :)
And BTW, where do you usually shop in singapore for these kind of things?
I am a fan of shopping at Bangkok MBK plaza and all. But never ventured out too much in singapore for these kind of stuff.
For tech products, I usually first browse for bargain on their large chain stores' website,
then Google map for a shopping mall close to my hotel
SG is a very small city, you can easily find them nearby
I never buy high end tech products in Australia, it's always inferior, outdated and more expensive than overseas
I even brought back desktop computers from overseas.
My favorite countries are Japan, Hong Kong and sometimes Singapore
They are trustworthy and it's GST free.
However, when I am looking for lower range products such as mobile phones/ laptop for kids/ elderly
Australia is my choice during EOFY/Black Friday, it's way cheaper than overseas when they clear old product lines
something like Nokia 5.4 for $170 or Samsung M2020W Mono Laser Printer for $38
You can hardly find such bargain in overseas because inventory turnover in Australia is sooooooooo slow lol
Any offers on touch screen
Shame no AMD deal!
I've got the i7 version, its got great performance and a lot of people say the i5 version is similar. It's very portable, the device is the size of an 11" netbook but with the 13" screen (it's taller than 16:9) and the thunderbolt 4 ports give it some expandability (I ran mine with a RTX 2060 in an eGPU enclosure and it could handle everything on an external monitor of similar resolution)
Good deal for me
