Aero Surgical Face Masks - Disposable Level 2 $12.50 + $15 Shipping ($0 for Orders over $200) @ St John Ambulance SA

60

COVID is still around, perhaps we can conquer it?

Received an email today from St John Ambulance, showing the pack of 50 Level 2 face masks at $12.50 (RRP $25, 50% off). I know you can get a pack of 50 face masks for like $11 on eBay, but not too sure if it's Level 2 certified.

These premium quality 3ply surgical masks with Level 2 protection rating have earloops and come with nose clips to ensure secure fitting.

I was going to buy some, but they REQUIRE your DoB to create an account. Not giving them that personal information to buy a product!

      • You can select the checkout as guest option

      • Why not? You're probably checking in with QR codes literally everywhere you go, right?

    • You sure? Because it didn't say in the order total that there's a shipping charge. It just asks you to enter your CC details and click complete my purchase

      • Yep, check how much they took, my brother told me before I ordered too. It's + $15 shipping and it doesn't say it at the checkout. Crazy. I reported it to be added to the title.

        • Sounded like a deal to me initially when I checked, that's why I posted it as a deal

I did a search beforehand on OzB for previous posts and I saw there was a shipping charge, I added it manually to the title

It's proven Surgical masks don't work.
    You need property fitted N95.

You are right, surgical masks don't work, same goes with N95 masks, if you don't wear it properly, it is as useless as surgical mask.

When it comes to the omicron strain, it is far less effective but better than cloth masks or having nothing at all. It's risk reduction not elimination.

        "It's risk reduction not elimination"
Yep, it all adds up; distancing, WFH, masks, jabs etc
        .

  • The accumulative effects from everyone wearing some kind of protective masks are significant as a community.

This + higher booster rate have already been proven in WA already to be very effective.

      Instead of going from 50 —> 500 —> 1500 —> 5000 —> 15000 and so on

      We went more like 50 —> 55 —> 70 —> 100 —> 150 —> 200 —> 300 —> 500 —> 800 —> 1000 and so on

Not exact numbers, just an example of numbers to show the effectiveness of boosters + mandatory masks.

      • Ya I bet and its something that is so easy to do but can make a BIG difference as a community.

      • Statistics is not your strong point it seems.
Way too many variables to make any conclusions.

Remember to cut the elastic ear loops before you throw them away. Wildlife get stuck in these all the time.
