  • Are Origin any good?

      No, they're incompetent. 2 stars.

Where do you find the referral link?

  • I recently moved to ovoenergy.com.au for electricity and received $108 from the employee rewards portal.
I compared rates of OVO with others and in my case they were cheaper on both, Supply and per unit rates. Moreover they have 100% carbon neutral only rates.

Origin have a good mobile app. OVO doesn't have one but website is easy to use.
    thanks

    • Been trying to join OVO since it seems to be quite cheap however, keep getting the 'Want us to save you a space? To do things smoothly, we’re only taking on a limited number of customers at a time.' and asked to join the waitlist. Have you got a referral link or something?

  • Remember to do your own research. I switched from Origin to Powershop (and yes I know Shell owns them now) and my first electricity bill after 3 months is already $70 lower.

    • You just use this. Enter NMI number and you get to know what the cheapest is for your billing period.

      https://www.energymadeeasy.gov.au/

Or you can upload a bill, or manually enter 12 months worth of data

      • Interesting, thanks for this.

  • I'm guessing that some apartment users might find it helpful as they're often forced to go with Origin anyway. You'd have to have just happened to move into the place though…

  • Currently getting 20c feed in. Best value to November.

  • I'm alreadt with Origin but need to get around to selecting a new plan.. usually end up staying but worth shopping around. Not sure if i could use the referral link or see what other deals are around.
    Cheers,

Ovo's front page shows $60 SIGNUP CREDIT

  • how can we claim cash rewards and referral bonus?

  • any utility providers that the CDC (crypto) visa card works with?

      Just try sniip.

      • Couldn't be bothered with it in the end, the promo said not for existing customers and based on my last chat with them to get an NBN deal added to my Origin account would have been a waste of time. Thanks.

        • I thought you wanted to use the cdc card. You can add the card to Sniip, then Bpay your bill. You can get cashback. 0.5% processing fee applies.

          • @LuckyL: oh right, was mostly on about the 100$ voucher

Yes worth a go setting that up will try at time of bill payment. As you say the 3% casback may end up less due to card fees vs direct debit.

            • @G-rig: You can use a referral code to get $10 credit to cover some fees. It may be good to pay ATO.

              • @LuckyL: Ha, won't be paying the ATO anything at this rate, coins are always down lol..

  • Any recommendations
Origin rates still seem quite good, not very green.. Ovo is an ok Balance, bit greener (13% vs 15% origin, used to be able to get 18%..). The voucher wouldn't be bad to stay may have to ask them

  • This is not expired

  • Under terms and conditions when i clicked "T&C apply" on "You've unlocked a $100 credit", 12. The promotion ends 15 March 2022.

    • yeah same. So is it expired or not expired?
