Its good for certain applications - e.g. games drive. I wouldn't use one as a main drive, but for mostly-read/seldom-write applications its fine.
I bought one 2+ years ago and still going fine in that scenario.
slap it into an enclosure and you got a bangin fast external drive
Klarna and Umart pretty low on my list of optimal companies to deal with. Umart haven’t made a great name for themselves and klarna i have been burnt by in the past… crucial is good though :)
What is wrong with Umart? Honest question, as I have bought quite a bit from them and never had any issues?
Some people had difficulty with RMA's.
I agree.
5 days, invoiced payment to post, for an instock SN550.
Drop-ship 2.0
I paid upfront with Klarna and the price was reduced before checkout and was as easy as… But cant atest to refunds and promptness of payments….
Any good enclosures recommend?
If you have ebay plus just get the T7 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/687415
It will probably cost the same and have better durability and reliability.
P2 is same price, so why not.
All the reviews I found say that P2 isn't a strict upgrade, but more of a different use case.
P2 is DRAM-less.
If using an enclosure, they're nearly the same price as a 1TB HDD. Wow. Unreal how the prices of desktop HDD/SSD's have dropped.
Edit: See this is EOL at Crucial
Um… you might want to avoid JMicron chipset based enclosure (unless that enclosure provides firmware update). The Asmedia one is… well, you need decent cooling if possible. Realtek ones, for now, sellers know most people want that one so generally they are more expensive.
Now trying to signup with Klarna, doesn't help when having a bad credit rating due to not working cause of covid
Everyone thinks P1 is good drive but it is QLC (just saying).
The price is perfect
