Goodyear Eagle F1 Sport Thoughts?

Looking at a new set of tyres for my 2005 Fairmont BA Mk2, live regional so not as many options.

Size 235/45R17

Local Goodyear has the Eagle F1 Sport for $715 including wheel alignment.

Are these a good tyre and a decent price?

I drive about 5000kms a year and mostly cornered with safety, comfort and low noise.

Any advice welcomed!

  • Eagle F1 Sport

Need tyre size, not just a model.
5K per year is like nothing.
I found michelin tyres usually provide low noise.

    • Added size, yeah I barely drive

  • Need size ….

Safety - most good named brands
    Comfort - anything not runflat
    Low noise - Primacy

    • Added size, I can get two Promacy from my local tyrepower for $175 each but I want to replace all 4 at once

  • Just got on a set of good year eagle f1 asymmetric 5, upsized from 18-19", can say its definitely better than my PS4. Road noise, comfort etc is about the same, Grip is same/better in both dry and wet. Haven't really pushed them yet though.

That being said, i'd recommend Asymmetric 3 or 5 from that range

  • That’s good to hear, I’m pretty keen on Goodyear but that’s all they have in stock at the moment in my size

  • Do you need them immeditely, or could you order in and wait a week or so?

    • Would rather get some shortly, car hasn’t been driven much at all so tyres tread is good currently but has 2013 tyres on the rear

      • Enough time to order in then surely.

  • I had asymmetric 5's on my French hot hatch. They were f'ing magnificent tyres.
    Get them.

  • Th F1 Sport are $140 each (inc FBV) at my tyre shop. $80 for a 4 wheel alignment. Your price seems a bit rich, even with "regional" pricing.

Why can't the tyre place order in what you want? Michelin Primacy 4 are only $150 each.

235/45r17 is a really common (hence cheap) size.
