The sounds suffers echo according to the in depth review at https://headphonesaddict.com/creative-super-x-fi-amp-review/

If you have a keen ear you’ll notice an “echoey” effect with the vocals. It’s a small difference but noticeable. For purists this might be a deal-breaker. For me personally, it isn’t a big deal because the improved soundstage is much more enjoyable.

Vocal intensive music won’t be perfect, and that’s a real shame. Echo in vocal is omnipresent in all music and only goes away when you turn off the Super X-Fi effect.

If you were still keen, the Creative SXFI AMP + Aurvana Trio LS Bundle may some value with added earphones at $115.95. https://au.creative.com/p/bundled-offers/aurvana-trio-ls-sxf…

Thanks Op, ordered. I heard the SXFI is a bit of a gimmick, but turn it off and the output on these is solid, and USB-C.

There is also a Creative SXFI AMP + Aurvana Trio LS Bundle for $115.95 that I went for. Not Sure how good the in-ears are, I can't find an audio mag review, but for $26 extra, thought I'd give them a bash.

Fine if you only want to power earbuds.

        • What you on about? I use it to with Sennheiser HD-590 and Microsoft Surface Headphones. Read ASR review.

          • @AlexF: I received the unit today and did some testing with Drop HE4xx cans, I have better cans, but these are on the SxFi List. For giggles I tried my Apple adaptor which required full volume and didn't sound great. The SxFi Amp needed around 75% volume and has audibly better sound especially bass.

SxFi is a bit of a gimmick on music at least. I have not tried movies or games yet.

            • @mostlygordon: As per ASR reviews, in terms of fidelity, they're on-par. However, at 33ohm, Apple 's 1/4 of power of Creative (at 1/6 price of this best OzBargain price for Creative versus normal price for Apple) so it depends on headphones' sensitivity and preferred listening volume.

  • Thanks OP, bought one. Perfect for my usage case.

  • I have one, it's definitely a different experience, but if you get a good scan of your ears you can remove the "in your head" sound that normal headphones give you and give you something closer to the "in room" sound. I don't have issues with echoes, it's only present with some tracks, not all, so if I notice it I turn off the super x-fi

  • Thanks OP, picked up the bundle with the earphones. USB C connection is just what I needed.
